Has anyone here had any experience renting a compact excavator from Home Depot, or other larger equipment? Any major gotchas or headaches to watch out for? I am not a contractor, just a homeowner. Are they pretty easy to deal with?

My local Depot has a brand new Kubota K008 compact excavator for $250/day. I could knock out a whole bunch of back-burnered projects with this and is well within reason to tow with my truck (rental includes the trailer I think). I have experience with skid steers so I don"t think operation is a problem.

Aside from the Home Depot experience side of this question, any comments on how appropriate this machine would be for digging out some 4" holes for construction tube? I want to set in some piers for a shed and a chicken coop.
