17 The Sand Guzzler is a patented pick-up pump, which has the capacity of carrying rocks and other debris along with drilling fluid. The Sand Guzzler is a self contained centifugal pump which comes in two different sizes and is avaliable in three different maerials. The Sand Guzzler is placed in a small pit near the drill hole so that it can be totally submersed in the drilling fluid that rises from the hole. In normal operation the content of the pit will rise and fall. As the Sand Guzzler gets covered it will fill with drilling fluid and any rocks or cuttings up to 2 diameter, through openings around its base. Once inside the Sand Guzzler it is pumped sown hoses to the MudPuppy, using internal impellers. With no seals or bearings in the pump the Sand Guzzler can run dry. Tibban MFG Inc. 20 Concentric housing design is avaliable in right hand or left hand operation. It reduces turbulence within the pump to minimize cavitation, shaft deflection, and excessive wear. The semi open impeller is designed to handle water or heavy slurries with equal efficiency. Replaceable wear plates protects the pedastal from wear and corrosion caused by fluids being pump, therefore, extending the life of the pump. The beefed-up frame design is stronger and more rigid in all wear areas. It gives a larger work area to facilitate packing the pump, which cuts repacking time. Heavy duty bearings are well protected by oil seals and water slinger designed to keep fluid and dirt out of the bearing cavity. Eccentric locks are used so the shaft can be easily removed without special tools.

If your desander cones are not performing like they used to, and you are seeing more liquid than sand coming out of your cones, it may be time to inspect them. Inspecting your desander cones is important and easy to accomplish. To inspect your desander cones, first remove them from the manifold. Remove the clamp that bands the top and bottom half of the cones together. The two halves will split apart. (See figure 1.1) Look inside of the bottom half towards the output nozzle. If you see grooves or wear it may be time to replace your desander cones. The top half of the cone will also show wear around the outside edges near the input jet. (See figure ) Both the top and bottom half of the cone need to replaced if there is excessive wear. When the sand enters the cone at a proper psi, the pressure creates centrifugal force which pushes the heavier sand to the outside if the cone. This pressure forces the sand down the smooth sodes of the cone. The lighter, clean mud goes back up the center of the cone and into the tank. As the sand swirls around however, it carves grooves on the inside of the both the top and bottom halves of the desander cone. The grooves disrupt the centrifugal flow of the sand and then will get mixed back in with the clean mud. This means your desander cones have lost their efficiency and may need to be replaced. If not, the desander pump and cones should be inspected for wear.

(TMI) warrants to the original customer that each new MudPuppy supplied by TMI or an autorized distributor of TMI, purchased by the original customer and properly used, will be free from defect in material and workmaship under normal use and service. Warranty coverage is provided for each genuine new MudPuppy for a period of six (6) months or 600 hours, whichever occurs first. If during the warranty period following the delivery of the machine, it is shown there is a defect in material or waokmanship caised solely by failure of TMI to meet such standard, and customer has notified TMi within that period, TMI shall repair or replace, at TMI s cost and option, such defective parts. Such repair or placement will be made without charge to the customer at TMI s facility or authorized repair center. Any replaced part (s) shall become the property of TMI and must be returned to TMI before credit will be issued. Any repaired or replaced part shall be warranted until the expiration of the original warranty period. TMI s warranty obligation is expressly conditioned upon the customer fulfilling all obligations pursuant to customer s purchase agreement including, without limitation, all payment obligations. This warranty does not cover the followaing: (i) normal wear and tear or components; (ii) exposure, corrosion or prolonged or improper use; (iii) normal maintenance service; (iv) improper installation or use of fuels and lubricants. (v) Misuse, alteration, negligence and accidents; (vi) unauthorized repair. This warranty does not cover any components supplied by TMi manufactured by other than TMI, such as components obtained by TMI from its suppliers. TMI makes no warranty whatsoever with respect to such components. Such components will be covered only by the warranties, if any, as may be issued by such suppliers themselves, which warranties will be made avaliable to customer upon request. TMI will not accept responsibility for the location of equipment. Customer waives any and all claim for loss of time, increased cost, inconvenience, loss of profit, cost of rentals or any other direct, indirect, punitive, special, exemplary, incidental or consequantial damages whatsoever.
