The AR-5c is TJR’s pneumatic collet rotary table that employs a pneumatic brake and 5c collet closer system. This unit is an affordable solution for customers who require a 5c collet for their workpiece as an alternative to a 3 or 4 jaw chuck.

The AR-5c collet rotary table can be integrated into a CNC machine control as a full 4th axis or it can be operated as an indexer by utilizing TJR’s SAC (Single Axis Controller).  In addition this series is offered in Right Handed and Left Handed motor mount configurations with a powerful pneumatic braking system.

The AR-5c unit is manufactured with a radial-axial preloaded bearing system for high rigidity that can perform light or heavy cutting. The AR-Series uses a dual lead worm shaft and worm gear to ensure long term indexing accuracy in both directions.

With the A6AC, collets can be clamped with the flip of a lever. The A6AC provides up to 5000 lb (22,242 N) of draw force, with 0.125" (3.18 mm) of travel. Clamping force is spring actuated and adjustable to 100 ft-lb (135 Nm). The A6AC tightens from the rear, and has a 1.75" (44.5 mm) through-hole.

The adapter from the draw tube to the collet is included with this collet chuck. The 5C spindle adapter has a 2-3/16"-10 threaded nose, which can be used for oversized collets, collet chucks, and small fixtures. All required hardware is supplied by Haas.

The Stallion Hybrid Trunnion Table allows manufacturers to maximize the efficiency of their vertical machining center and rotary table. Every time a part is handled or indicated, there is an increased risk of scrapping it. The Stallion Trunnion Table minimizes this risk through 4th axis milling. With full 360-degree rotation, machining multiple sides of a part becomes possible, allowing your operators to handle a part as little as necessary. The Stallion Hybrid includes a pneumatic braking system as well as a 5c collet chuck (or other chuck, vise, and work-holding of your choice) located on the outboard support. The chuck rotates with your rotary table and eliminates the need to remove the Trunnion Table for other work-holding options.

The Hardinge 5C (2-3/16-10) threaded-nose Collet Block accepts an entire array of workholding products. Standard 5C collets, collet stops, Dead-Length® collets, step chucks, Sure-Grip® expanding collets and manual chucks will thread onto the spindle nose for increased capabilities. Collets and other tooling sold separately. Air is required during setup whether using a single collet block or a subplate full of collet blocks. The fail-safe design does not require air during the cutting process. This results in maintained concentricity without downtime or waste if loss of air should occur. The Hardinge base design is open, allowing coolant and chips to be blown out rather than building up. This eliminates the need to tear down and clean out the unit. Modular units can be used vertically or horizontally for machining or assembly operations.

Our most popular model, a 5C pneumatically actuated unit, can rotate a full 360-degrees, making it ideal for use on rotary tables. A low-friction model of this closer is avaialble for use in welding applications.

Also popular for rotary table and indexer applications are our 5C, 16C, and 3J manual collet closers. These units are operated via an internal cam mechanism, and are configured for both four and six-slot mounting.

For stationary applications, Royal offers a pneumatic closer that utilizes internal balls and inclined planes to produce high gripping force while maintaining a small footprint. Additionally, a 5C four-station cam-operated collet block is avaible for vise applications.

I expect many of the Chinese spindex will have identical plates, but all I have seen have the same number of holes. The plate is a simple bored hole, with one row of 36 holes, if you have a decent mill, and a trig table, making a custom one would be easy. If I was using one a lot, I"d just match drill, since I get a little brain dead when doing production, and would start stabbing the wrong holes.

It is a bit of a pain to operate with the axis vertical, the collet tightening handle hits my vise, even with the block attached. When it was original length, I had to clamp it to my BIG angle plate (the only one I have)
