Fits: All PRE-Millennium Europiccola and Professionale models with a double switch. Does NOT fit models with a straight ON/OFF switch or models with the red rocker switch and green light. For a more detailed explanation, please see this PDF.

This Safety Valve Body is found on the older version PRE-Millennium Europiccola, and it works with older Stainless Steel sphere (eventually replaced by the Teflon Valve).

Note that we offer two tools to assist with removing and reinstalling this assembly, the Steam Valve Removal Tool to reach the nut inside the boiler and the Pavoni Skinny Wrench to hold the base of the MP- or P-37 in place while loosening/tightening.

PLEASE NOTE: As with many manufacturers who are making an effort to cut their production costs, La Pavoni has stopped finishing the inside piece and the lower part of the outside piece of this assembly. All, or at least most, of the unfinished portion is hidden by the drain tube cup. They are still properly finishing the top end.

2022 updated pressure release valve. This stronger valve will in most cases stop the occasional steam release from the pressure release valve caused by calcium blockages or foreign matter. The boiler safety valve on this page can be found on older espresso machine models of La San Marco. There is for this part no la San Marco part reference number. This safety valve has a male M22 thread with a pitch of 1,5mm. The valve has been calibrated on 1,8bar. When the valve opens it can release up to 6,3 kg/h of steam. Replacement anti-vacuum and safety valve core to suit current model La Pavoni Lever machines. If your machine has steam coming from the safety valve the you need to replace this component.

Something is amiss. On the newest machines there should be a slight hiss from the anti-vac valve for a few seconds when the machine just starts to come to pressure, but after that it should not continue to hiss at all. On older millennium and late pre-millennium with pressurestats which don"t have an anti-vac valve you should have no hissing there at all unless the machine heats up above the safety pressure (above 2 bar or so.)

If the safety valve is continuously releasing pressure from the time that the machine begins to get up to pressure, then it"s probably stuck open or failing to seal. If so you need it inspect and clean or replace it.

I notice that your green light appears to be unlit, and it should on whenever the machine is heating. Perhaps the lamp is bad or the wiring to the lamp is bad or disconnected. But I also worry that maybe something is dangerously miswired so that the pStat is not shutting off the element, and the boiler is heating uncontrolled, causing the safety valve to release the too-high pressure per design. I suggest unplugging and verifying that the wiring is correct.
