slk 230 hydraulic pump fill quotation
I have a 1989 SLK 230 with a leaking top cylinder. When I remove the cylinder to replace the seals is it necessary to also remove the lines to the cylinder in order to remove the cylinder itself?
I have recently purchased a 1998 slk 230 and the previous owner had removed the front locking cylinder. Do you know where I can find pictures of the hydraulic line routing so I can reinstall the latch cylinder

HELLO are these allenhead fastener round plug bolts available anywhere that hold the plates that keep the hydraulic lines in place for 1998 Mercedes benz slk230 hydraulic roof unit SEE PHOTOS PLEASE
No. When you fill, you will actuate top, it will bleed as you try to use it. Be sure to keep it topped up and not to overrun or overfill during the procedure. - Nick at Pelican Parts
1999 all 230 and have purchased the seal replacement kit. My problem is the left trunk lift is leaking and I cannot determine how to dismantle for a rebuild and replacement of the o ring seal to stop the leak. Do I buy the entire cylinder because this is something I cannot do? If this is so, why can I buy this kit?
The pump fluid level has dropped consistently after top operation, so that every time it cycles I check the level. There has been no evidence of a leak until the last time it was operated whene a puddle appeared below the right rear fenderwell drain; moved the car and recycled again and the puddle appeared after the roof closing. Can I further Isolate the problem? Thanks for your input.
Hi, i own SLK 230 year 1999 , we have problem with the roof top system . My mechanics took out the hydraulic lines from the hydraulics pump then he forgot the configuration to put it back in order. Do you have the picture of these hydraulic lines configuration. It will be very helpful for me to get the configuration. Thanks in advance.
Hi just got a 2003 SLK3230 the the top works once in a while it get stuck with the truck open. Through recerch I found a hydraulic rebuild kit on e bay from a MB forum. Would this take car of the problem there are company"s that rebuild the cylinders why do have to buy a whole new cylinder ?
My 2001 SLK230 is having top issues...I see no obvious hose or cylinder leaks, but the pump reservoir is going empty with each open-close cycle and fluid is draining through the rear right and left drain tubes equally...could the main rear lift cylinders be the leaking culprits?
First confirm the fluid level is correct. Then raise and lower it a few times to bleed the system. If it still slams shut, the issue is likely with a pressure loss in the pump or pump solenoids. - Nick at Pelican Parts
I have a 1999 SLK230 and I replaced the left trunk lid cylinder. What is the standard length for the cylinder? I adjusted the length to match the one that was removed but I guess I measured incorrectly. Now the roof light comes on randomly and beeps. The switch shown in the attached image appears to not be fully locked. I can press it down and it "clicks" into place.
I have a 2001 320 slk. Fluid is leaking from the passenger side rear convertible top haudraulic cylinder. Repair shops said $1500 to replace all 5. $1000 to replace 1. Only 1 is leaking. How much should 1 cost? Should I have all 5 replaced?
I have a 99 SLK and the top will not go down. Large amounts of oil are leaking from the right side of the roof near the sun visor and the right vent window. It seems like the channel on the right side of the hardtop is now filled with oil and it is dripping on the right passenger seat headrest and floor board. I"m assuming this is a problem with the top lock cylinder and the oil has traveled in the channel to the back right of the hardtop. The hardtop is locked in the closed position. Anyway to manually release the hardtop? Or can the top lock cylinder be accessed with the hardtop in the up position? At this point, the hardtop won"t go down, the vent windows are stuck down in the open position and the hardtop switch light always stays on. Thanks!
I own a 1998 mercedes slk230. The trunk started to not latch recently until you press on the trunk with enough force to latch. Now the trunk will not latch at all. From taking video within the trunk it shows the latch does not even meet the striker plate. Suggestions?
I have a SLK230 with oil leak on top of roof. To release the pressure just get the "L" key and turn left the cooper bolt at the pump then close the roof manual. If the small windows continue open, remove the relay at the pump and turn on the ignition key then pressure the blink red bottom My advance is to replace the cylinder because I did repairs and not stay long. To remove the liner is easy bring the roof back a little and you will see the smal bolts around that one Good luck
I have a question for you, I am sure you can help me out. I own a 2000 SLK 230 Turbo Limited Edition, a month ago while trying to open the roof it got stuck half way, in order to get it down into the trunk I had to disconnect the battery cable to depressurize the hydraulic
I own a 2000 SLK hardtop Compressor. on !/27/2016 i contacted the upholstery shop to schedule a headliner replacement because it has become loose looks wobble and touches our heads while driving the car. The guy from the upholstery shop told me "Quote" "If you remove the roof I can do it today" immediately I assumed he didn"t know how to work on this type of convertible roofs, so my mistake is that the car was parked in an uphill terrain and the car was a bit leaning to the left side and when I opened the roof half way for him to see the way to remove the headliner the roof didn"t want to come down and close.
I own a 2000 SLk Compressor hardtop and I just on Jan 27 2016 I was hit with the cruel reality that I might need to do some work with my rooftop and I might need help from you to solve my problem
The fill and drain plug is on top, a 4-mm inside hex bolt in the forward right corner. Drain as much fluid as possible before shipping the pump to us. Removal from the car is easy: disconnect from the wiring harness, disconnect the hydraulic lines (they all pull out after you turn the retaining plates on top - all hoses are numbered and match the engraved numbers on the retaining plates - no need to loosen or tighten the bolts on the plates), unbolt from the car. Optionally remove the mounting frame to simplify shipping. Wrap in a large garbage bag to contain inevitable fluid leakage, buffer the parcel well inside, ideally double box for shipping.
