2001-2006 E46 BMW M3 SMG Gear Shift Hydraulic pump / accumulator. Removed from a 2005 E46 M3 with the SMG transmission and 121k miles. This assembly includes the hydraulic pump and reservoir that operates the clutch and gear shifting mechanisms on the SMG transmission. Will ONLY fit SMG equipped vehicles. In good working condition, fully tested prior to removal from the vehicles. In good physical condition with no major corrosion or surface rusting. hey bud, im not sure how bad your problem is. What happend to me was that everytime I would change the gear, even when the car is parked from R to N it would make a nasty sound. I took it to my shop and he told me the pump was bad and that was starving the transmission of oil. I would highly recommend you try not to fool the car, this will lead a much bigger bill later on. Just change the pump if you can. My honest opinion, pay a little extra and swap it, I am currently converting my car to plain ol" 6 speed from SMG. Sure, SMG is great fun and super fast at shifts but its a lot of money at keeping it running good. Next step, is up to you. Good Luck, hope I helped.

When this O-Ring is new you will notice that the SMG pump will charge up quicker and hold the pressure longer before having to prime up again. So don"t lose or forget to use this small O-Ring since it is VERY Important.
