Goulds Pumps, one of the premier fluid brands of ITT Industries, now offers Seal Plus, a highly versatile single- and double-cartridge all-purpose mechanical seal. Seal Plus features an Aflas O-ring pusher design that provides versatility, reliability and lower cost. The single seal (SP1) features a carbon or silicon carbide rotating face with a silicon carbide stationary face and 316 stainless steel metal parts. A standard carbon-restricting bushing is supplied with cast 316 stainless steel flush, vent and drain glands. The double seal (SP2) also uses a carbon or silicon carbide inboard rotating face and 316 stainless steel metal parts to insure optimum chemical compatibility. Other features include a silicon carbide stationary face with a carbon versus silicone carbide outboard face combination and a cast 316 stainless steel gland with an inlet and outlet port.

The Goulds 3316 Two Stage Horizontally Split Case Pump was inspected, and then disassembled. A new mechanical seal from Advanced Sealing International (ASI) was installed along with new gasketing.

Solution & Service Performed:   Field Service Technicians traveled to refinery, removed pump from operating area, brought pump back to ABET Shop. Installed new Advanced Sealing International (“ASI”) Cartridge Style Mechanical Seals. Installed new Gasketing.
