Crown Oilfield Instrumentation manufactures load cells and pressure sensors to be highly accurate and very durable. Built-to-last, Crown load cells can sense any load you can hang from them or you can set on top of them. Our tension and compression load cells perform accurately without electrical power, only hydraulics, and can withstand corrosive atmospheres and moisture. Our load cells and pressure sensors come in a variety of sizes and weight capabilities to be used in a variety of oilfield and industrial applications. Whether you need load cells for your weight indicator or a mud pressure sensor, Crown has just the right product for you. Because we design, build, and test all of our load cells and pressure sensors, our products will work in the harshest industrial environments and will provide years of dependable service. Whether you need a guage protector, a pancake load cell, or a 4:1 pressure debooster system, we have the right product to fit your drilling rig application.

Our hydraulic load cells are built to last, with a diaphragm designed to ease friction and leaks that are common in less sophisticated hydraulic sensors. Hydraulic load cells have exceptional dependability in outdoor environments because they do not require electricity; and therefore, the harsh elements, such as water and corrosive media, cannot affect performance.

Crown"s piston-style sensors come in three max capacities and are used with our tong systems, mini weight indicators, and wireline weight indicators. These sensors consist of a piston, housing and end cap and use the piston and a set of seals to sense tension. When the piston is pulled, the sensor transmits this force via a hydraulic hose to the gauge and indicates the amount of force in pounds. The smallest t piston-style sensor is the CTC106, 4.0 sq. inch sensor for use with our tong sytems, which has a single line load max capacity of 20,000 lbs.. The second largest, the CTC107, has an effective area of 6.53 sqare inches. This sensor can be used where the single line load does not exceed 25,000 lbs and can be used in our tong line pull system, tong torque system, our wirleline and mini weight indicator systyems. Crown"s newest and strongest piston style sensor is the CTC105-2, which has an effective area of 6.53 square inches and is made of steel. This sensor has a max single line load capacity of 30,000 lbs and can be used in any application where the single line load capacity does not exceed 30,000. Each of these cylinders can be paired with a custom designed tong line pull indicator or tong torque gauge to your exact specifications.

Crown’s gauge protectors (CD106) (the smaller protector seen in the image on the right) is an integral part of any pressure system. Designed to protect the working parts of a pressure gauge from harsh drilling fluids, Crown gauge protectors are durable and dependable in the harshest drilling instances. Two kinds of rubber cups are available for our gauge savers: a CD200 and CD200-1 Viton cup, rated for H2S service. Easy to maintain in the field, these pressure sensors will provide you with years of dependable service.

The mud pressure piston separators & piston isolators manufactured by Crown Oilfield Instrumentation are made here in the U.S. and are made with high quality materials to assure durability and performance. Crown’s separators and isolators (also known as gauge protectors and gauge savers) stand up to the toughest conditions and provide long-lasting service. Mud Pressure Separators and Isolators keep drilling mud and debris from damaging a pressure gauge’s costly internal parts all the while assisting in providing accurate pressure readings. These simple but effective devices ensure that gauges and recorders will stand up to the harshest rig conditions. Crown’s mud pressure piston separator handles working pressures up to 15,000 psi that are delivered though a one-fourth inch hydraulic hose. Crown’s 1:1 piston isolator uses not only a piston but also a rubber diaphragm to keep well-fluids, such as cement, acid, and mud, from mud gauges or chart recorders, providing double the protection from these harsh fluids.

A mud pressure piston separator is a device that displays the pressure of well fluid to a remote gauge or recording device. Our 1:1 piston separators are designed to hold well fluids out of a pressure system’s internal parts and offer additional protection by using both a rubber diaphragm and a piston to separate the well fluid from the mud gauge or recorder.

The piston pump is a type of positive displacement pump, wherein said high pressure seal with said reciprocating piston. Piston pumps can be used to transport liquids or compressed gases. They can operate over a wide range of pressures. High pressure operation can be achieved without a strong influence on the flow rate. Piston pumps can also handle viscous media and media containing solid particles. This pump type functions through a piston cup, an oscillating mechanism (where a downward stroke causes a pressure differential), and a filled pump chamber (where an upward stroke forces the pump fluid out for use). Piston pumps are typically used in scenarios where high, consistent pressure is required, as well as in water irrigation or delivery systems.

Piston pumps are widely used in machine tools, forging, metallurgy, engineering, mining and other machinery and other hydraulic transmission systems by virtue of their simple structure, small size, high efficiency and strong self-priming ability. ATO offers variable and fixed displacement axial piston pumps with power from 8 hp, 15 hp, 30 hp to 300 hp, with customization support.
