Overshots are a tool used on the downhole process during the fishing operations. It engages the tube or tool on the outside surface. A Grapple or other piece of equipment that is similar attaches onto the overshot and grabs the fish.
Overshot is one of the fishing tools which is fishing the pipes externally. It can catch drill collar, drill pipe, tubing, subs and other pipes. Because of the seals, the fluid can circulate with the high pump pressure after catching the fish. The top of the fish will be milled by under mill shoe. It can also work with jars to catch the stuck fishes. If the catched fish can"t be release from stucking, we should release the overshot and lifting the drill string.
This drilling tool is an Over shot fishing tool. To construct this part it we manufacture in a similar fashion to the fishing spear. The over shot is precision CNC machined from hardened high alloy steel. And has a sharp internal thread profile. This fishing tool latches to the outside diameter of the broken down hole drilling tool. The hard sharpened threads are designed to latch and thread into the part.
Place an overshot card on top of the shot charge just before crimping to improve overall crimp quality and seal in small shot and/or buffer. Excellent for use with BPI Roll Crimpers.
Our testing lab has proven that poor crimps can alter the performance of an otherwise good load. Overshot cards always produce better, more consistent crimps and this consistency is demonstrated in the standard deviation of loads in our lab. Our ballistic lab recommends overshot cards for better crimps in all loads.
Clear Overshot Disks(either plain or printed with shot size) are also offered for great roll crimping options. See pictures in Additional Images or click on this link.
Shotshell size selection:Use the same size gauge as your hull. Smaller diameter cards also work if your particular size is out of stock. For example, a 20ga overshot card works in a 16-gauge shotshell and so on.
