I have seen the vertical plates for Bridgeport tables around, but as was mentioned, the 15" is really too big for most vertical work. Eats lots of Z space. Horizontal work, now that"s another story, and I sort of wish I had one sometimes. But I have a V/H Troyke that works for me most of the time, though I"ve only ever used it once that I recall in vertical orientation because it is still rather too large on my 2J, and it"s brutally heavy. As a horizontal, it provides a very decent amount of surface for setup, though sometimes it is very tight on some setups, which is when a 15" horizontal only sounds appealing. The V/H tend to be much heavier and bulky, so a 12" Troyke V/H probably weighs more than a 15" Horizontal only Bpt. Anyway, by far the most common for me to use in vertical mode is my little 6" Hartford indexer. I also have an 8" horizontal that as far as I recall I only ever used on the drill press for hole locations, but it"s much more convenient to move about.

Anyhow, I"m thinking about building one of those hand carts with a winching lift platform. Kind of like a mini forklift. Then I could build miniature pallets for my rotary table, vise, and soforth. Pick "em up from a shelf under a workbench, wheel "em to the mill, slide them off. Or maybe a hydraulic table would be more useful. I don"t think a crane would serve my needs as well.
