TÜV Rheinland is an approved U.S. Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) Certification Body for Pressure Equipment.  Meets ANSI Z21.22 "Relief Valves for Hot Water Supply Systems."

The safety relief valves manufactured by Caleffi are produced in compliance with the essential safety requirements of the Directive 97/23/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union for the Harmonization of Member States with regard to pressurized equipment.

When the calibrated pressure is reached, the valve opens to release the fluid into the atmosphere and prevents the pressure in the system from reaching levels that might damage the solar collectors and equipment

The Altecnic series 311 and 312 safety relief valves are used in domestic hot water systems to protect the hot water cylinder and in heating systems to protect boiler and other components.

The valve is selected for the required set pressure. As the pressure rises, when the discharge pressure is reached the valve opens and discharges to atmosphere, preventing the pressure within the system reaching levels which would be dangerous for the boiler, hot water storage cylinder and any personnel in the adjacent vicinity
