fagor pressure cooker safety valve factory
Fagor is one of the market leaders when it comes to pressure cookers. They are sold online at Amazon as well as many other leading retailers across the nation. Today, we will be taking a closer look at Fagor pressure cookers and uncover the reason as to why they continue to corner the pressure cooker market.
The Fagor Duo 8-Quart Stainless-Steel Pressure Cooker offers a unique design with multiple features that make cooking a quick, healthy meal easy. It all starts with the pressure cooker’s sleek design.
This particular pressure cooker is made to be used on all heat sources instead of being plugged into the wall. Because of this, it more closely resembles a stainless steel pot, providing the cooker with a sleek look. It is constructed out of 18/10 stainless steel, which offers long-lasting durability and a high-quality, professional appearance. An impact-bonded diffuser base allows for even heat distribution.
The one thing that gives the pressure cooker away is its handle, which stays cool and locks securely in place. It contains a triple safety feature with a dual pressure control valve and two independent pressure release valves. It also contains a visual pressure indicator, so you know exactly when the pressure has been released, and it’s safe to open the cooker. The handle is UL approved.
Not only does the Fagor Duo 8-Quart Stainless-Steel Pressure Cooker make cooking healthy meals easy, but it also makes serving them up easy as well. It comes with a handy stainless steel steamer basket with convenient legs and a handle, which also makes draining pasta or steaming vegetables a breeze.
The pressure cooker can reduce cooking time by 70 percent, which also means saving 70 percent on the energy needed to cook the meal if you were to use traditional methods. Two pressure settings are available, and this particular model comes with instructions, as well as recipes. Because the Fagor Duo pressure cooker works on the stove and other heat sources, instead of needing to be plugged into the wall, it is dishwasher safe.
Unfortunately, it’s all too easy to swing through the drive-thru on your way home when you know you don’t have a lot of time or energy to cook. For some, the hassle of dealing with a clunky electric pressure cooker is too much to take, especially when cleaning up isn’t easy.
The Fagor Duo 8-Quart Stainless-Steel Pressure Cooker with Steamer Basket simplifies pressure cooking with a streamlined, stainless steel design that is dishwasher safe. You won’t mind cooking with it in the evening, no matter how tired you are, because it’s so simple!
When I say that this pressure cooker can cook food fast, I really mean it. Cook a delicious risotto in just 7 minutes, meatballs in just 4 minutes, and chicken soup in 15 minutes. You can even enjoy cheesecake in 30 minutes! If you’ve ever made homemade cheesecake before, you know it can take hours before you’re able to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
The Fagor Duo Pressure Cooker can cook food up to 70 percent faster than traditional cooking methods. If you’ve never cooked with a pressure cooker before, I definitely recommend that you start with a recipe from the cookbook. There are a lot of tasty dishes to try.
Another great thing about this particular pressure cooker is that it comes with a 10-year warranty. It has even appeared on MasterChef and was voted Best Buy in Leading Culinary Magazine, so you know it must be good!
It is extremely important to understand that this isn’t a set-it and leave-it pressure cooker. It is made to work on all domestic cooking surfaces which include gas, electric, ceramic, and induction, which means you have to be present while cooking.
If you’re looking for a pressure cooker that skips all the fancy settings, the Fagor Duo 8-Quart Stainless-Steel Pressure Cooker could be for you. Its streamlined design fits right in with all the other pots and pans in the kitchen and having only two settings; there’s no need to stress over the endless settings that are standard with other pressure cookers.
Designed for use on all heat sources, the Fagor Duo 8-Quart Stainless-Steel Pressure Cooker is approximately 17-1/5 by 11 by 10 inches and comes with a 10-year warranty.
4 and 8 Quart Pressure Cookers. Sometimes, you’ll be cooking for one. Other times, you’ll be cooking for a crowd. Either way, the differently sized pressure cookers ensure that you’re ready! There is also a stainless steel pasta/steamer insert included that works with both pots!
Triple Safety Mechanism. If you’re accident prone like me, then you’ll love Fagor’s patented triple safety mechanism. The mechanism features two independent over pressure release valves and a dual pressure control valve. The valves allow excess pressure to escape, so I can rest assured that each of my dishes will come out perfectly!
The duo cooker set is designed to save up to 70% of the energy and time that traditional cooking methods require. It can be used to cook vegetables, rice, and meat. The patented design of the pressure cooker lid fits both the 4 qt. and the 8 qt. pans.
When used with the lid, the 4 qt. cooker can serve double duty as a saucepan, and the 8 qt. cooker is designed to hold the steamer basket insert, which can be used for steaming vegetables or draining pasta.
The Fagor pressure cooker is a great bargain (see lowest price), especially since you are essentially getting two pressure cookers for the price of one.
What’s particularly great these pressure cookers are that they were designed with safety and simplicity in mind. The handles of the pressure cooker and the pots are constructed from heat resistant black plastic, so you don’t have to worry about burning your hands should you forget to put an oven mitt on.
The shared lid is made from tempered glass, which is quite durable. It can survive being accidentally knocked off the counter or dropped in the floor without suffering any damage. Other notable safety features include a safety lock handle, visual pressure indicator, and an automatic pressure release valve that makes sure the lid won’t accidentally come off.
One of the Fagor Duo’s best features: All of its components (except the pressure lid) are 100% dishwasher safe. If you’re like most people, the last thing you feel like doing late at night is the dishes, so it’s great to just toss the pots into the dishwasher and forget about them.
So, what it is about this particular pressure cooker that sets it apart from its competition? The answer is the manufacturer – Fagor. Headquartered in Spain, Fagor creates high quality, energy efficient appliances for the modern chef.
In Europe, Fagor has acquired multiple environmental stewardship awards, and in the U.S., they’re an active member of the government’s Energy Star program. Superior quality and environmentally conscious construction sound like a winning combination.
For far too long, my family’s diet consisted primarily of takeout. When my husband and I decided to recommit ourselves to following a healthier lifestyle, my best friend bought me the Fagor Duo Combi cooker set as an encouragement present, and this is one of the main reasons why she is my best friend!
This pressure cooker has streamlined my life and makes each day flow smoothly. Our family preps our lunches for the week on Sundays, and I have run this cooker continuously for up to 12 hours straight with no issues. Thanks to its safety features, I can leave it unattended while it does the cooking, and I don’t have to worry about small hands accidentally burning themselves on the handles.
One feature I really like about this pressure cooker is its encapsulated bottom, which is designed to ensure even heat distribution. I never have to worry about my meat being unevenly cooked, and the automatic pressure release releases any excess steam to ensure that each dish is cooked to perfection every time I use it. Not only does it cook quickly, but it uses 70% less energy than its nearest competitor.
If you want to lead a healthier lifestyle, but constantly find yourself short on time, this cooker set is a great tool to get you started on the right track. It makes it so much easier to stick to your goals. When you come home at the end of the day, you’ll feel so much better knowing that a warm meal is waiting for you. I can’t think of anything better.
For energy efficient appliances that have great safety features and functionality and that are easy to use and clean, then Fagor pressure cookers should be at the top of your list. They are compatible with a variety of different cooktop surfaces and offer quick and versatile results that you won"t find with other small kitchen appliances. You can create delicious meals in a fraction of the time with even heat distribution.
Fagor America will be shutting down operations over the next few months after its parent company in Spain announced it would close, Fagor America’s CEO Patricio Barriga confirmed to hip pressure cooking.
In a letter from Fagor to retailers, HomeWorld Business reports, they wrote, “Fagor America will be affected by this cessation and we anticipate the company will be closing in the next couple of months.”
The letter from Fagor continued, “We want to assure you and your customers that we will [be]supporting you during this period to make sure service and coverage of warranties continue uninterrupted. We do have product in stock and in transit that we intend to sell in an orderly fashion to preserve the integrity of the Fagor brand.”
Fagor America’s parent company in Barcelona, Fagor Electrodomésticos, was acquired by CNA Group which filed for bankruptcy in November of 2013. Despite the changing of the reins and crisis in Spain, Fagor America continued to independently develop products such as its Lux multicooker which has won awards from Cook’s Illustrated, Good Housekeeping and the 2017 Good Design Award from Chicago’s Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.
The dissolution of the Fagor brand in America leaves a team of talented individuals – whom I have personally met – with an established retail distribution chain and proven track record of locally conceived, developed and marketed products which found success in the U.S. marketplace.
Consumers have begun to file product liability claims over alleged pressure cooker defects, saying the common kitchen appliances can explode suddenly, causing severe burn injuries. A host of different manufacturers have been hit with allegations of selling defective and dangerous products – including Fagor America, the company behind Casa Essentials and Rapid Express pressure cookers.
Fagor America is a company based in Lyndhurst, New Jersey – the US wing of Spain’s Fagor Group. The Fagor Group is “one of the world’s largest manufacturers of household appliances,” according to a Fox News report.
Fox highlighted Fagor, and the company’s recent financial woes, shortly after executives at the Spanish appliance giant learned that at least one of their pressure cookers had been used to carry out the Boston Marathon bombings in 2013. At the time, Fagor was seeking a 60 million Euro loan to repay the company’s growing number of creditors.
While Fagor manufactures everything from dishwashers to wine coolers, the company’s focus remains on pressure cookers. Claiming prominence as “the most well-known pressure cooker brand on the market,” Fagor America manufactures pressure cookers under six different brand names:
Pressure cookers branded as “Cayenne” and “Futuro” are listed as discontinued on Fagor America’s website. A pressure cooker sold under the brand name “Nutrimaster,” which is marketed in the US by Farberware, also appears to be manufactured by Fagor. In one incident report, a home cook describes being told to contact Fagor after the pressure indicator of his Nutrimaster pressure cooker “blew out of the pressure cooker lid.”
Consumers have reported explosions with nearly every pressure cooker manufactured by Fagor, but the company’s Casa Essentials pressure cookers appear to be implicated in the vast majority of incidents.
Walmart lists the Casa Essentials pressure cooker as “no longer available,” as does Macy’s. On Amazon, the company’s 5-quart Casa Essentials Aluminum Pressure Cooker is only available through third-party sellers. In short, Fagor’s Casa Essentials pressure cookersappear to have been taken off the market, although there has been no company announcement to this effect.
Sonia Lyn, writing on August 2, 2014, calls the Casa Essentials pressure cooker a “dangerous product.” Lyn then explains why: “Mine blew up. Burn[ed] me on my side. My niece had one too. Her’s blew up too.”
On May 9, 2014, user AnnieWP wrote: “this pressure cooker nearly blew up in our kitchen. I returned it and think you should, too, for safety reasons […] they should recall this pressure cooker.”
On January 1, 2014, user RB Elmore posted: “the seal failed one day and it was pretty spectacular.” Elmore continues: “the silicone seal failed after about a dozen uses […] the [pressure cooker] took off across our kitchen like a steam-powered rocket.”
Writing on April 6, 2012, user Clairmonte calls the Casa Essentials pressure cooker “not safe to own.” “On the first use, this cooker worked well. Thereafter, it blows the silicone gasket whenever pressure builds up. I tried it several time[s] with the same results. […] The company […] sent me a new gasket, and I tried it – with the same results, this time with a lot of damages to the kitchen and stove.”
The Casa Essentials pressure cooker comes equipped with an “auto-locking mechanism,” so consumers shouldn’t be able to open the cooker’s lid until all of the pressure has been released. Many home cooks, however, report that the pressure cooker’s lid sealing mechanisms appear to be defective – either making removal of the lid entirely impossible or blowing off at a moment’s notice.
The pressure cooker’s gasket has also been labeled “faulty.” Intended to secure an air-tight seal between the cooker’s pot and lid, Fagor’s gasket seems completely ineffective. As Yangyi Chen wrote on December 28, 2011, “it releases all the steam at once before the valve starts releasing extra pressure. Luckily when this first happened, we weren’t right next to the cooker or the steam could’ve burned us.” In other cases, the pressure cooker’s silicone gasket has broken within months of purchase.
In a report dated July 21, 2015, a 55-year-old man blames an apparent failure of his Casa Essentials pressure cooker for causing first- and second-degree burns. In an event that he says led to emergency room treatment, the man says:
“After cooking[,] I waited for about 20 – 30 minutes and pulled off the regulator to check for any residual pressure. There was no steam released and no sound of steam. I then opened the pressure cooker and[,] as I did so, it exploded, and the stew contents hit my chest, neck, and face which left me with first and second-degree burns. I sought medical attention immediately.”
The reporter continues, attempting to explain the accident’s cause: “apparently the locking mechanism which should have prevented me from opening the cooker while under pressure did not function. I did not have to use force to open the cooker. It opened easily.”
In a 2013 report, a man describes the severe injuries inflicted on his wife after one of Fagor’s Elite brand pressure cookers unexpectedly exploded off the stove:
“She was using the pressure cooker to cook lentils. The pressure cooker was on the stove building pressure for 7 minutes and it flew off the stove and emptied its contents via the vent valve. The pressure cooker was half full when she started the cooking process[.] When I opened it, the cooker was empty.”
“A Casa Essentials pressure cooker exploded. Steam and hot water splashed all over the face, arms, and shoulders, resulting in 2nd and 3rd-degree burns.”
“I bought a Casa Essentials pressure cooker. I cooked on it a couple of times and it was okay. The third time, the steam and water exploded out of the cooker and I burned myself with the hot water gushing out of the pressure cooker. Thankfully it did not get in my eyes [-] otherwise, I could have been blinded.”
There are two reasons why I want to report this incident. First, I believe that the cooker wasn’t designed properly. Its safety valve should have prevented the incident […] by releasing the steam pressure, or a stronger seal needs to be used.
Second, I believe there is a design flaw in the location of the safety valve which is bundled together with the normal steam outlet. This design can prevent people from telling if the steam is [coming] from the normal outlet or the safety release valve. Because of the design flaw, it’s very hard for most users to tell the difference between steams released from the safety valve and from the normal valve. As a result, it’s impossible for most users to tell when the safety valve is open and when to remove the heat from the cooker. If the steam is [coming] out [of] the safety valve, users would be able to identify the problem in time and remove the heat to avoid [an] explosion.”
On the company’s website, Fagor boasts of the Rapida pressure cooker’s “triple safety features,” including a dual pressure control valve and two independent over-pressure release valves. According to the manufacturer, a “safety locking handle prevents accidental opening under pressure.”
“About 30 minutes ago, I was making some turkey stock. My stock had been under pressure for about 40 minutes when I heard an awful shrieking sound and ran downstairs to find stock all over the kitchen and a missing pressure indicator mechanism. Looks like it literally blew up. Had any of us been in the kitchen, we would have been scalded.” [Emphasis added].
“Last Saturday, […] my wife was cooking some bean soup and we were [a] few feet away from the stove and pressure cooker. After like 10 minutes[,] suddenly steam [sprayed] with high velocity and touched my hand[,] as well as my wife’s feet. We were lucky that we were [a] few feet away and the steam became cool and we could [save] oursel[ves] from being burned. It could also cause fire [on] the stove and fire could spread all over. [The] same event occurred [two days later], when my wife was cooking some chicken soup.”
Manufacturers have a legal duty to produce safe products – ones that don’t place users directly in harm’s way. But many consumers believe that Fagor America’s pressure cookers are unreasonably dangerous, prone to exploding at a moment’s notice with little warning. While no recent claims have been filed against Fagor America, injured consumers are urged to contact an experienced attorney immediately. Significant financial compensation may be available.
I’ve always been rather terrified of pressure cookers. My mom was always wary of them, and we had both heard stories of injuries sustained from exploding pressure cookers. Because of this, I preferred to cook the old-fashioned way, even though it meant a much longer cook time.
But since moving out, I’ve had little time to indulge in cooking. Gone are the days when I could spend an hour boiling dried beans on the stovetop. So, I got myself a Fagor pressure cooker and tried to get over my fears.
As I unpacked my new Fagor appliance, I asked myself: How to use Fagor pressure cooker? I had to go through a lot of trial and error when getting the hang of using a pressure cooker, but you don’t have to!
Fagor is a manufacturer of home appliances, specializing in kitchen and laundry goods. Their most popular products are their range of pressure cookers. But Fagor gets its specialty because their pressure cookers are different from conventional ones.
How so? For starters, they have a slightly different construction. Fagor pressure cookers are made of 18/10 steel, which allows for meat and vegetables to be directly browned in the cooker.
However, the main difference between Fagor and older cookers is the safety feature. Fagor pressure cookers are much safer when compared to older models of pressure cookers, so they have fewer chances of exploding in your face.
These cookers have a lock button and a pressure indicator. The pressure will not build up in the cooker unless the lock button is pressed down, preventing any accidents.
As mentioned before, Fagor has different kinds of pressure cookers, with slightly different functions. Each cooker is designed to suit different cooking needs.
The Fagor pressure cooker cooking times are pretty much consistent regardless of device. They are also similar to those of more conventional pressure cookers.
Now let’s dive straight into the meat of the matter. Fagor pressure cooker instructions usually come in a manual with the cooker itself. But in case you tossed out yours, or you’ve inherited a second-hand pressure cooker, this section is for.
Check your pressure cooker gasket for cracks or breaks. Ensure that the gasket is flexible and properly set in the lid. Examine the lid and pressure valves to make sure they are clean and free from food residue.
Put the food into the pressure cooker. Remember to adapt recipes for cooking in the pressure cooker as the cooking time is reduced to 1/3 of the original cooking time. Brown meats and vegetables in the cooker if directed in the recipe.
Don’t go beyond filling the cooker over 2/3 full. Foods that expand like rice and soups, stews, and stocks shouldn’t surpass 1/2 the volume of the cooker.
Select the pressure level suggested by your recipe. Heat the cooker over high heat if using a stovetop cooker until the pressure indicator button rises, showing that the cooker is at the recommended pressure level.
Remove the pressure cooker from the heat once cooking is finished. Reduce the pressure by turning the steam release valve to slowly release the pressure.
Knowing how to open a Fagor pressure cooker may be the most important part. Remove the lid when the pressure has been lowered and the pressure indicator button shows that the pressure is down.
Press the lid down and rotate the lid handle until the pot and lid handles are parallel to each other. Press the yellow pressure-lock button to lock the lid and this will let the pressure build-up.
Cleaning and maintaining your pressure cooker after each use ensures that it works well and lasts longer without any hiccups. Here’s how you should go about doing it.
Clean the exterior of your pressure cooker. Do not ever dunk your pressure cooker in the water. Use a mild soap and dishcloth to get rid of the grime and crumbs on the outside of the cooker.
For most home cooks, Fagor is a good and reliable brand that makes a range of pressure cookers. They are particularly favorable because you can get electric and stove top options.
Knowing how to use Fagor pressure cooker appliances can significantly cut down the time you spend in the kitchen. As we’ve established before, Fagor pressure cookers are much safer than you’d expect pressure cookers to be, so even beginners can use them without fear.
Pressure cooking is a wonderful way to prepare food that cooks thoroughly and quickly at a high temperature. Some are worried about the dangers of using a pressure cooker, so it is helpful to find out how to check your pressure cooker safety valve for safe operation.
For those worried that a pressure cooker might explode, the safety valve is the design feature that prevents this from happening. If the cooker has a safety valve, you can see it installed on the cooker’s lid.
A pressure cooker is designed to trap the steam inside to increase the pressure. However, too much pressure is not safe. The valve must release pressure if it gets too high.
The blog of pressure cooking today has many recipes that are delicious. There are 25 recipes for pasta so you can try a new one every day for nearly a month.
There is a weight inside many of the safety valves that is lifted by the internal steam pressure when it reaches a certain amount. When the pressure lifts the weight inside the valve, this allows some steam to escape.
Jeffrey Eisner who says “he is a nice Jewish boy from Long Island.” He started with pressure cooking by making a simple mac and cheese dish with a recipe that he shared on YouTube. The video was an immediate success and led to his making new recipes for pressure cooking.
In a sealed cooker, as the pressure builds up, the boiling point of water rises. This phenomenon is the cause of the increased heat that cooks the food more thoroughly and faster.
The science that explains this is fascinating. The normal boiling point of water under standard atmospheric pressure of 15 pounds per square inch (psi) is 212°F (100°C). In a pressure cooker, the atmospheric pressure doubles from 15 psi to 30 psi. This added pressure raises the boiling point of water from 212°F (100°C) to 250°F (121°C).
If you see steam escaping from the safely valve do not worry. The steam escaping from the safety valve is its normal function, which means the valve is working properly.
If the internal pressure within the cooker gets high enough, this lifts a weight in the safety valve that allows steam to escape. The escaping vapor lowers the pressure. You can hear the steam escaping, making a whistling sound, or rattling the valve.
The first pressure cooking devices were used in the 17th century. They were useful to remove fat and collagen from bones so that the bones could then be ground down to make a pure bone meal.
The inventor of the device, Denis Papin, called it a “steam digester” or “bone digester.” His invention was the precursor to both pressure cookers and the steam engine. Surprisingly, the early designs did not have any safety features, and this caused some of the first ones to explode while being used.
The legacy of those early pressure-cooking devices may be why some still fear this problem even today. Papin, to his credit, came up with a design improvement that is what we call a safety valve to avoid the dangers of these explosions.
By the 1930s, the modern pressure cooker design became useful in a home kitchen. The Flex-Seal Speed Cooker, invented by Alfred Vischer, came out in 1938.
These home cookers became even more popular in 1939 with the release of the design by the National Pressure Cooker Company (now called National Presto Industries), which is still manufacturing these cookers today.
The first-generation cookers had a safety valve that worked with a weight. When the internal pressure rises high enough to lift the weight, some steam escapes, and the valve makes a distinctive rattling sound.
Second-generation cookers use a spring-loaded valve that makes less noise and is adjustable for pressure sensitivity by using a dial, which is on the cooker.
Third-generation models are the most recent versions. They use an electric heating source that is regulated by the internal pressure. These devices do not need a safety valve because the heat source automatically shuts off before the pressure gets too high.
Suppose you are thinking about getting a new cooker. In that case, there is another device that you might consider called a food dehydrator, which I describe in the article entitled, “How Much Electricity Does a Dehydrator Use?” here.
For the styles of cookers with a safety valve, it may not be obvious when the valve is not working if it is blocked. You may notice the lack of steam while the cooker is heated. The valve could rarely be blocked, but if not cleaned properly, it is possible.
Alternatively, the valve may be broken, missing, or the pot may not seal properly. These problems might allow too much steam to escape. This leakage may cause the cooker not to heat up properly and not allow the internal pressure to build up to the proper level.
One of the signs of a problem with a lack of pressure is that the food takes much longer to cook than you normally expect when using a cooker of this type.
One tip in the video is not to open the cooker after finishing cooking and take the lid to run it under cold water. This sudden temperature change can make the safety valve work less well and may cause the need to change the valve more frequently.
If you use a cooker that needs a valve to work properly and the valve is broken or missing, you can replace it with a new valve. Be sure to get the manufacturer’s specifications to ensure you use the correct replacement part.
Some of these problems include the ventilation knob being open or not enough liquid is in the cooker (requires at least one cup). Another cause is the sealing ring is missing, damaged, covered with food particles, or not in the proper position.
The video narrator shows how she cleans her float valve for her instant pot that she uses as a cooker. If you use too little liquid or too much, the cooker may not pressurize.
For the type with screws, hold the valve from the bottom of the lid with the pliers and use the screwdriver to remove the screws from the top to remove the broken part. Replace it with the new one and tighten the screws that hold it in place by holding it with the pliers from the bottom of the lid again and tightening the screws from the top.
For the type with a nut, use the wrench to loosen it for removal and perhaps a socket when you put on the new valve to tighten it with enough torque to hold it securely in the proper position.
Modern pressure cookers that are in good repair are quite safe. The one caution to remember is not to overfill the cooker so that the food might block the safety valve. This overfilling with food would be very difficult to do and not something to worry about for normal use.
Be careful where you keep your cooker on the countertop because it is important to know how hot a stovetop can get. Even when turned off, a stovetop may still be very hot, which I discuss in this article.
Now you know everything you need to know about a pressure cooker safety valve. You know what they do, how they work, and how to replace one if it needs repair. Enjoy your pressure-cooking recipes without worrying about the safety valve.
If having a safety valve on your cooker still bothers you, consider buying an electric cooker without a valve that instead has a built-in safety feature that automatically shuts off power if the pressure gets too high.
Johnson // Becker, PLLC is a nationwide products liability law firm with experience representing victims of pressure cooker explosions. The firm represents over 300 clients who have been severely burned by exploding pressure cookers designed and sold by numerous manufacturers.Johnson//Becker filed this Complaint in New York Federal Court on behalf of Mirsada Muratovic, alleging that Fenca America. Inc (previously operating as Fagor America, Inc.), the manufacturer of the Fagor EZ Lock pressure cookers, misrepresented the safety of its pressure cookers.

If you or a loved one has been injured by a defective Fagor pressure cooker, you may want to speak with the lawyers at Johnson // Becker. We are actively filing new pressure cooker lawsuits across the county and you may be entitled to financial compensation for your injuries.
A pressure cooker is a sealed container using high pressure and less time, energy, and water than traditional cooking methods to cook food more rapidly. However, pressure cooker injuries are on the rise due to all the defective devices available on the market today.
The steam generated by pressure cookers can be extremely dangerous, as the inside temperature runs approximately 40 degrees higher than the water"s boiling point. The following factors increase the risk of explosions:
Faulty lids and seals - the locked lid should stay in place under pressure and be safely removed once the food is done. When the design is incorrect, the container"s contents may spill before exploding all over.
Deficient gaskets or valves - the user should not be able to open the pot during high pressure; the premature opening of the vessel during high pressure can inflict serious burns.
The problem with newer electric pressure cooker models is that some have been manufactured with faulty designs; since they function at such high temperatures, it is enough to have just one defective part and be in the presence of an accident waiting to happen.
Anyone owning a pressure cooker should check if a recall has been issued for that particular model. Some well-known brands, many of which have reported defects that caused significant dangers to users, include:
Burns from the hot contents of the container represent the most prevalent consequence of pressure cooker explosions; however, sometimes the situation can escalate, affecting the consumer, as well as those located in their proximity, in numerous other ways:
If you suffered any injuries as a result of an exploding pressure cooker, you have the right to file a lawsuit against any and all parties involved in the distribution chain of the product:
The Fagor Helix Pressure Cooker pales in comparison to even themost basic Instant Pot modelwith just two pressure settings and no smart pre-set, one-touch cook modes. With the Fagor Helix, you can only choose from high (15 psi) and low (8 psi). This may be enough versatility if you’re pretty well-versed in pressure cooking and feel confident choosing between low and high, but may present some confusion if you are used to one-touch cooking.
