The purpose of thimbles are to underline and support the eyes made by looping the exteriors of wire ropes together. As alternatives to wire clips and swage sleeves thimbles create a durable wear surface & aid in supporting the wire rope eye by preventing pinching and fraying of the wire rope. Thimbles can be used with swage sleeves or wire rope clips.

This is for two (2) quality marine grade stainless steel (AISI 316) round wire rope thimbles. For wire rope size of 1/2" (12.5mm). AISI 316 stainless is a premium grade of stainless and is considered by many to be best in class. 316 stainless is corrosion resistant and very durable even in the harshest of conditions. Not to be used for overhead lifting.

Stainless steel wire rope thimbles for forming reinforced eyes in wire ropes. Always match your thimble to the same size wire rope, eg: 2mm thimble = 2mm wire rope. We recommend using 7x19 Wire Rope with these thimbles.

Once fitted we recommend you load test your wire rope assembly with a load that is equal or greater than the expected load to ensure that your loop/eye performs safely.
