Prince PTO pumps are specifically designed for PTO drive operation on all sizes of farm tractors. No additional gearbox is required. Pumps are mounted by sliding the internally splined pump onto the PTO splined shaft and restraining rotation with a torque arm. See page P6 for the PTO pump torque arm kit.

The Cross series 50T pumps are designed to be driven by a 540 rpm PTO and provides a 3:1 speed increase for the pump to provide flow for a variety of farm applications: for example front-end loaders, augers and wing fold implements. The thru-type 6 spline internal shaft permits the use of a stub shaft PTO driven accessory which simultaneously drives the pump.

A power take-off or power takeoff (PTO) transfers the mechanical power from a power source, such as a running engine, and transfers it to another piece of equipment or attached implement.

This allows for the power to move throughout the equipment to transmit energy even if it doesn’t have a motor or engine itself.  Most often, a PTO it is a splined draft shaft installed on a tractor or truck allowing attached implements to be powered directly by the engine. Semi-permanently mounted power take-offs can also be found on industrial and marine engines. These applications typically use a drive shaft and bolted joint to transmit power to a secondary implement or accessory.

The gearboxes are used mainly for connecting hydraulic pumps to the power take-offs of agricultural tractors. PTO output, standardised at either 540 or 1,000 rpm, is, in this way, increased to optimum operating speeds for the hydraulic pumps. At 540 Rpm, the output speed is 1620 RPM

his step up gearbox has a ratio of 3:1 with a Group 3 Din Mount 1:8 tapered shaft gear pump.at 540rpm the gearbox will produce 1620 rpm, giving a flow rate of litres per min; these are examples (other incremental pump sizes available,) Please note; This gearbox is rated for a maximum of 20 kW hydraulic power. If you oversize the pump, & run at a higher pressure than is stated in the chart below, internal stress will cause the gearbox to fail prematurely
