Gear Pump Manufacturing (GPM) manufactures a complete range of internationally interchangeable commercial components for Bearing gear pumps, Bushing gear pumps, Motors and Flow Dividers.
Commissioned in February 2002, our Foundry is located on the same site as our manufacturing facility in Cape Town. Expansion has mirrored that of GPM.
Currently the foundry produces Grey Iron, SG Iron and Compacted Graphite Iron. Superior metallurgical structured CGI material is used in the manufacture of the higher pressure requirements of our Bushing Pump Range. The foundries production is dedicated to the requirements of GPM and has sufficient capacity to handle the expected growth into year 2018.

This pump line offers aluminum body construction, high pressure hydraulic gear Pump with 11 displacement sizes from 0.24 to1.95 cu.in/rev. 4 to 32 cm3/rev . The standard mounting flange is SAE A – 2 bolt, The standard drive Shaft is a 5/8 inch Dia.meter straight with 5/32 straight key.
Equipped with bi-directional check valves, the Chief MH Series series features small displacement and high pressure ratings. The MH series Pump/motors have an aluminum body with cast iron flange construction, and case drain. Available displacements range .065 to.517cu.in/rev. Similar to MTE “D” series and Sauer-Danfoss Webster YB series.
The SP20B pump now utilizes self-lubricating thrust blocks that eliminate the need for separate wear plates. They are made from a high strength aluminum alloy with exceptional anti-galling properties. This new thrust block design also incorporates advanced bearings designed specifically for high pressure hydraulic pumps. This new bearing features a robust fluoropolymer PTFE wear surface that yields unsurpassed load carrying capabilities and cavitation resistance even at low speeds and moderate levels of contamination. Also, since the PTFE resin layer is self-lubricating, contamination from bearing wear in high load situations (when no oil film is present) is reduced. This new thrust block design combined with these advanced bearing results in lower friction and less internal oil loss resulting in higher pump efficiencies.
