Pressure-Flow Compensating (PFC) hydraulics, (up to 356 lpm) handle your most hydraulically demanding implements. The standard system provides power for steering, remotes, power beyond and the three-point hitch. A standard 151 lpm (159 lpm on the Steiger 535) pump relies on the PFC System to deliver the correct flow and pressure where it"s needed, when it"s needed.
Optional High-Flow hydraulics provides 208 lpm (216 lpm on the Steiger 535) high capacity pump for intensive hydraulic operations such as air seeders and beet lifters; and comes standard on all Scraper versions and AccuSteer.
The Twin-Flow option gives you ultimate hydraulic flow capacity, for the most demanding equipment, by including a second PFC pump with an additional 132 lpm of flow (140 lpm on the Steiger 535). The TwinFlow option combined with the high-capacity pump will produce a maximum flow of 340 lpm (356 lpm on the Steiger 535).
The powertrain inside Steiger tractors generates everything you need to produce more and eliminates unnecessary technology. Since 2006, the largest Steiger tractors have been powered by the 12.9-liter FPT Powertrain Technologies Engine. Steiger engines have passed every test and challenge, and are built with future emission regulations in mind. This engine powers through the toughest field conditions and is now Tier 4A and Tier 4B compliant; with fuel-saving Case IH patented SCR technology for 10 percent lower operating costs than previous models. This exclusive patented technology provides you more uptime efficiency without any active regeneration required.
Steiger pioneered the first full powershift transmission on a four-wheel drive tractor starting with the Panther 1000 in 1982. Today"s Steiger 16-speed powershift features unprecedented shift quality thanks to "pulse width modulation," a form of electronic control that allows smooth shifts and less fatigue at the end of long days in the field. Steiger’s Drivetrain components continue the tradition of durability by efficiently transferring power to the ground.
Equip your Steiger with options including AccuSteer, 3-point hitch and PTO to handle row-crop tools such as mounted tool bars and planters, heavy V-Rippers, and the biggest grain carts.
Never before has a 4WD tractor been as precise in delicate row-crop maneuvers as it is in broad-acre, heavy-tillage operations. The AccuSteer™ from Case IH launched the industry"s first precision-steerable 4WD. When equipped with the AccuSteer II system available on today"s Steiger 335, the 4WD tractor is right at home in situations requiring careful control, such as planting and cultivating. Designed specifically for row-crop operations where steering control is critical, the revolutionary system allows the front frame to pivot independently of the rear. Now you can make in-row corrections without articulating the entire tractor. A double articulation design — in which the front frame and axle pivot at the front of the cab — makes it all possible.
A Case IH Steiger 4WD tractor is just as at-home on a land-leveling site or commercial scraper crew as it is in the farm fields. Differential locks, backup alarm, tow cable, and beacon lights are standard features on all scraper models. Special scraper versions of the Steiger 385, 435, 485, and 535 tractors include: heavy scraper axles, heavy-duty drawbars, built-in frame weight and powerful engines with rugged transmissions. A special scraper quick-hitch drawbar with tow cable works well with most popular scraper brands. For safety on the farm and on the construction jobsite, these tractors are ROPS and FOPS certified. All of this adds up to speedy hauling cycles to help you move more dirt in a day, boosting your business productivity — and profitability.
A new three-year, 2,000-hour warranty is included for all model year 2019 Magnum tractors, and for all model year 2019 Steiger tractors used in agricultural applications. This industry-exclusive warranty lowers cost of ownership over this extended time period and lets you better project equipment expenses.

• The Steiger 370, 420 and 470 maintain the heavier, thicker steel frame with the larger wheel base of the larger Steiger tractors, but are built with a narrower frame width for row-crop farmers.
• Available on the Steiger 370, 420 470, 500, 540, 580 and 620, the Steiger Quadtrac® has four individually driven, oscillating tracks that reduce compaction and provides better floatation and traction in the field.
The 16-speed, full powershift Steiger transmission produces smooth shifting and reduces fatigue at the end of a long day in the field. It accomplishes this through pulse-width modulation, which allows the smoothest possible shifts under load. The newest version of this proven transmission also features larger gears and clutch packs that deliver years of service while transmitting up to 682 peak horsepower to the ground for large-scale farming.
Steiger tractors feature massive axles that can carry up to 66,000 pounds of operating weight. That"s the most weight any tractor out there can handle. And it means your Steiger tractor can work with the largest implements and cover more acres in a day. All Steiger tractors have a frame built of 1/2-inch thick steel and a longer wheelbase with built-in weight.
• For Steiger 580 and 620 Models: Features 5.5-inch axles and 18-bolt hubs, so you don"t have to worry about the drivetrain when the time comes for the required power you need to farm how you want.
113 gallons per minute flowing through up to eight hydraulic remote valves, and up to 20,000 pounds of hitch-lift capacity. That"s enough hydraulic flow for even the biggest planters and air seeders in the industry. And it doesn"t require a separate system or pump, meaning it"s easier to monitor and more reliable. And the new electronic precision remote, quick-connect valves make your operation even more efficient by maintaining precise flow and pressure - even in the more severe conditions. Set the system how you want, and it adjusts for changing conditions through the day.
For those large planters and strip till rigs that increasingly make 4WD an ideal choice. These longer tractors with a narrow frame offer a better ride and put more power to the ground. And they maintain the principles of the Steiger family of tractors: a heavier, thicker steel frame and longer wheelbase that helps produce optimum performance.
All Steiger tractors feature massive, heavy-duty axles that can carry up to 66,000 pounds of operating weight. That’s the most weight any tractor in its class can handle. Figure in heavy-duty drawbars, built-in frame weight and a rugged transmission, and you’ll see why Steiger tractors really are a big deal. The longer wheelbase and built-in weight of a heavy frame on Steiger 470 tractors provide more power to the ground plus the heft and durability needed for earth moving work. The wide frame of 500, 540, 580 and 620 HD wheeled models set new productivity benchmarks for the industry. Features like heavy-duty drivetrain components, 113-gallon-per-minute hydraulic flow and power growth up to 682 peak horsepower are raising the bar as well.
The only factory-integrated drive system of its kind. The proven technology of the Case IH Steiger Quadtrac is unparalleled in the industry. And now, it"s time to take the next step with Steiger Rowtrac™ design. The Case IH Steiger Rowtrac tractor"s four-track, positive drive system is the only factory integrated drive system of its kind in the world. With equal-sized, independent, oscillating tracks, you can get in fields sooner and maximize the opportunity for high-yielding crops. It also minimizes ground pressure and reduces compaction, improves traction and simplifies transport. This exclusive design allows you to cover more ground in less time, even when field conditions are less than optimal.
The four individually driven, oscillating tracks of a Steiger Quadtrac give you greater ground contact that rubber tires or two-track systems could never match. The result strikes a balance between productivity and efficiency you also won"t find anywhere else. Better traction and less slippage. Greater flotation and reduced compaction. It"s a design with a clean and proven competitive advantage. The four tracks of a Steiger Quadtrac distribute weight more evenly and efficiently than two-track systems, reducing compaction. That leads to numerous benefits like better flotation and traction, and easier transport. That"s because Quadtrac distributes loads evenly across the length of each track - even with the added weight of a load putting force onto the rear tracks. Delivering more usable power you can depend on is possible because of the exclusive Quadtrac positive-drive design. Lugs that interlock with bars on the drive wheel and track. That"s because a positive drive is continuous at all times, even in a wet or slippery spot. The Steiger Quadtrac positive drive adjusts automatically under transport or light loads that reduce wear, friction and heat - and increases durability. Quadtrac 5 axle design provides more even power supplied to the soil, therefore providing less ground pressure, creating a more agronomic seed bed.
Does your Steiger have the lovjoy type hyd pump coupler off the end of the crankshaft ? If so you have a bad relief valve or a worn pump. The relief should not open until 2000-2100 psi. Shiming may work, but take care not to shim it too much and leave the system without a working relief valve. You should also check that the steering priority valve is not stuck and bypassing oil through the steering. 3000 psi on your IH is too much, you have a non function relief valve, fix ASAP. A few years ago I bought a well used Steiger Panther KM325, always had little nusiance oil leaks in many places. during a rain delay I looked to fix most of those little oil seeps. we had broken a steel line and blown out two main hydraulic hosed during the 2 years I owned the machine. While looking the hydraulic system over we noticed that what appeared to be the pressure relief valve had the return hose disconnected and the valve capped !!!??? Did a look over of the machine to see if another relief valve had been added somewhere else, found nothing. We decided to plug the hyd system test guage into a remote and see what kind of pressure the thing was running. With the engine at slow idle, the test guage ran right up past 3500 psi on a 2000 psi system. Yikes,no wonder the thing had leaks all over!!! Only the fact that the hyd pump has 6000 hrs and is a bit worn saved us from twisting off or exploding a hydraulic componant. We reconnected the relief valve and it cracks at 2100 psi then maintains right at 2000 psi. I have no idea what the heck the previous owner was trying to do, but I would like to smack him right in the nose with a fresh warm cow pie. And BTW, all the little oil seeps went away now that the relief valve is working again.
