The 45th edition of the EIMA exhibition of agricultural machinery closes with the extraordinary number of 327,100 visitors, which improves the record of 2018 (317,000). Sunfabs participation was a success with many existing and new customers visiting the stand in Bologna.

Despite the recent turbulent years in our world, Sunfab has shown strong sales growth in demand for hydraulic pumps and motors. At this year"s Elmia Lastbil, the focus laid on the heavy issues, such as the green transition in the industry. Elmia Lastbil, which was held for the 20th time, is the largest truck exhibition in the Nordics and was arranged in Jönköping 24–27 August. This year"s exhibition attracted almost 31,000 visitors, where Sunfab participated among over 320 exhibitors.

We are now launching SAP DIN Optimized in the entire displacement range 12-108. The pump series is developed to meet the market"s demands for low weight & low noise in combination with high performance.

Green Concerns Sdn. Bhd is today the largest Body Builder in Malaysia and has been a customer to Sunfab since 2010. The company was established in 1996 and has grown a lot. The yearly output has during recent years been between 300-500 chassis built per year.

Since 1975, the World of Concrete has been an annual exhibition for the American construction industry and is held every year in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sunfab Hydraulics Inc. exhibited Sunfab’s renowned range of hydraulic pumps and motors.

Already at the end of 2020, demand for Sunfab"s products increased and in 2021, order intake was record high. Order intake for the full year ended at over 61,000 units, which broke the previous record since 2008.

EIMA exhibition in Bologna, Italy concludes with extraordinary results despite post-Covid uncertainties and defines itself as a leading business event. In week 21, 2021, we received the highest order intake in Sunfab"s history for a single week with more than 2 600 units. We surpassed the previous record of 2 500 units in week 39, 2007.

At the end of March 2021, we passed 100 000 manufactured and sold SAP-pumps that were introduced to the market just over 5 years ago. If we also add SAPT, we passed 100 001 already on September 18th, 2020.

It is Sunfab’s strong belief that continuous future growth will be realized through distributors. As a part of Sunfabs distributor program we continue to work with our distributors for completing our program to become a "Sunfab Certified Distributor". A new certification have now been awarded to Egil Eng AS (Norway).

Sunfabs production in Hudiksvall, Sweden, is still going at full capacity as usual. At present, we cannot see any current or forthcoming disturbances in our supply chain for providing our own production. This can of course change in the future.

Sunfab World Conference was held on 10-11 of September and was attended by around 50 participants. Invited were Sunfab’s distributors and subsidiaries from around the world.

Every other year, in Ljusdal, located in the middle of one of the most dense forestry areas of Sweden, an exhibition is held which for many in the forestry industry is seen as the most important meeting place. For Sunfab, which has many end-users in the sector, it is an obvious choice to exhibit.

On August 29 to 31 the construction exhibition Load Up North was held in Umeå, located in the north of Sweden. The seventh in the series, the show brought together over 160 Exhibitors and had nearly 6,000 visitors. Sunfab exhibited their high-performance hydraulic pumps and motors.

At this year"s Sunfab World Conference - SWC19 at the beginning of September, 7 diplomas were awarded to distributors who completed the distributor program and now can call themselves a "Sunfab Certified Distributor".

SkogsElmia is the largest forestry exhibition in the Nordic region. Sunfab attended and displayed its main products for forestry at the exhibition which is located within the forest.

Elmia Lastbil, which had it’s 35th year anniversary, was opened by Swedish Infrastructure Minister, Tomas Eneroth. The fair, which is the largest truck exhibition in the Nordic countries, was held in Jönköping on 22-25 August. This year"s exhibition had over 31,000 visitors, Sunfab participated amongst over 410 exhibitors.

The world-leading truck exhibition IAA in Hannover had chosen its slogan this year to be “Driving tomorrow”. The ambition was to present the future of mobility, transport and logistics. Sunfab exhibited, among other things, its SAP pumps and the new dual flow pump SCPD 70/36 DIN By-Pass.

On August 29 to 31 the construction exhibition Load Up North was held in Boden, located in the north of Sweden. The sixth in the series, brought together 140-150 Exhibitors and had over 7000 visitors. Sunfab exhibited and showed amongst other things, the SAP pumps and the new dual flow pump SCPD 70/36 DIN By-Pass.

The Port of Blyth needed a flexible crane system for loading and unloading wind power equipment onto ships. The solution provided was a plinth mounted Hiab crane equipped with Sunfab"s highly reputed piston pump.

A new long-awaited role has been added to Sunfab"s component factory. It is an Operational Production Manager who will be involved in production, employee support function and the link to quality and maintenance.

The AuxRov ROV-system was designed and launched in 2016 for a multitude of subsea tasks, and has recently completed a job for Britanias gold. This involved working in the most dangerous environments in a WW1 wreck in up to 4.5 metre swells. The thrusters on the AuxRov use Sunfabs SCM-064 motors for reliable function in this unquestionable harsh application environment.

Lars-Åke Wästlund is a new employee at Sunfab having started on February 26th. He will work with the After Sales Department and take care of claims. Lars-Åke comes from a service background as a mechanic from the John Deere Forestry in Delsbo.

There are major changes in Sunfab"s development department. The group has been expanded both in their number and in competence. The idea is now to further develop the way in which we work to get even better on product development and meet our customer’s needs.

It has been a busy few months but now things are falling into place at Sunfab’s newly established subsidiary in North Carolina. Enquiry rates are high and will get even higher as more customers get to know that Sunfab Inc. is in the USA.

The Agritechnica exhibition in Hannover is the largest agricultural exhibition in the world. This year there were over 2,800 exhibitors from 53 countries participating and the exhibition was visited by around 450,000 visitors from 138 countries from all over the world. There was a great interest in Sunfab’s booth, both from existing and new customers.

Fredrik Johansson is new Sales Manager at Sunfab Hydraulics AB as of 1st of December. He will strengthen our sales organization in the Nordic region and initially be responsible for southern Sweden and Norway. Fredrik has worked for many years with international sales at Ericsson.

Between the 31st of August and the 2nd of September, the construction exhibition, Load Up North, was held in Boden in the northern part of Sweden. Johan Sundin is Sunfab"s new product manager from 1st of October. Johan started his career at Sunfab Hydraulics AB in 2003 immediately after completing his mechanical engineer education at Mittuniversitetet. During the first 11-12 years, he worked as a designer in the development department and in 2015 became Sales Manager for the Nordic region, combined with the position as product manager for Sunfab"s hydraulic pumps.

Per Olof Ohlsson is the new Marketing Manager at Sunfab as of 27 February. Per Olof joins Sunfab from the telecoms company Ericsson, where he spent 18 years working in various positions in Sales and Marketing.

The Design Department at Sunfab has acquired a new employee, Johan Andersson, who started work in February as a Design Engineer/Project Manager for the pump division.

North America is a strategically important market and by this establishment Sunfab has strengthened its presence and service with its own organization. Therefore we started Sunfab Hydraulics Incorporated from the 5th of April 2017.

Sunfab Hydraulics sells its products on a global market. As much as 89% of its production is exported. Sales are done primarily through Sunfab"s own organization but also via distributors in more than 60 countries.

North America is a strategically important market and by this establishment Sunfab strengthens its presence and service with its own organization. Since 1984 Dutch company Hydrosta B.V. has been a supplier of hydraulic components and hydraulic systems. They set high demands when it comes to quality and work only with market leading brands. Sunfab is one of the brands Hydrosta has worked with for many years.

The EIMA International Agricultural and Gardening Machinery Exhibition in Bologna represented a new beginning for Sunfab on the Italian market. Exhibiting for the first time was our new Italian distributor, Sunfab S.r.l. Their participation was a great success, with many existing an new customers visiting the stand.

Sunfab"s Logistics and Purchase department ensures that the correct number of articles are always kept in stock. They are also responsible for receiving, packing and dispatching goods.

The Production Technology Department is always working to further develop and streamline production processes at Sunfab. Always working toward one goal - the quality of the products should be the highest possible.

CTT in Moscow is recognised as one of the largest trade shows in the construction branch. Sunfab was exhibiting at this years show with staff from both Russia and Sweden.

The department has an important role to play at Sunfab. Partly because all of Sunfab’s pumps and motors are assembled, but also because they are responsible for all the tests that are conducted.

Sunfab’s Department for Quality and Business Development plays an important role in developing and maintaining Sunfab’s well-established high levels of quality. This is done partly by means of internal audits but also by conducting preventive work and continuous tests and measurements during the production process.

Sunfab is a leading company in the field of hydraulics, especially when it comes to technological development. This is one result of the company having its very own innovative Research & Development Department.

The Research & Development Department at Sunfab is responsible for Tech-Mail, a technical support service for Sunfab’s customers. Tech-Mail is free and allows customers to email their questions directly to Sunfab.

Sunfab’s SAP-series of pumps continue to grow on the market, in our last newsletter we wrote about the SAP success on the UK-market. As Sunfab’s products are sold worldwide, the SAP-series has also been well received in Asia.

Sunfab’s latest series of pumps, the SAP has become extremely popular on the market. The complete range was released earlier this year and the success continues. Long lasting customers like Graham Commercials have seen the SAP meet and even exceed their customer’s needs.

The first models in a new series of hydraulic motors, specially developed for trucks, are now being launched. According to the manufacturer, Sunfab Hydraulics AB, they have a high starting torque and are based on the company"s well established SC type pumps. "Hydraulic motors permit great flexibility when installing such components as high pressure pumps, compressors, vacuum pumps, generators or other rotating items on a truck", says Mats Wettermark, the company"s marketing manager.

The company develops its hydraulic pumps and motors in close co-operation with customers, which include manufacturers of hydraulic equipment for trucks, body-builders and end users.

"This permits high radial loading and promotes a long life," says Lennart Andersson, Sunfab Design Manager. The motor design that we have chosen (bent-axis) gives a compact product with few moving parts. This reduces bearing loads, increases reliability and increases the overall efficiency.

Sunfab Hydraulics AB develops and manufactures hydraulic pumps, and now also motors, mainly for truck use. The company is certified to ISO 9001 and has its own stocks in Hudiksvall, Hamburg, Singapore and Chicago. In other markets the distributors handle stock control. Sunfab is a family business with 75 years behind it, and has been manufacturing hydraulic pumps since 1954.
