Either 7000 or 8000 series tractors MUST have the kick-out detent tightened down so the remote lever stays locked in by itself. Dial in the flow to match the flow demand of the planters fan. You should connect the hoses so you have to operate the remote lever in the "lower" position and go to "float" when shutting the planter fan down, letting it coast to a stop. Anything you expect the tractor hydraulic pump to do will shorten its life. Not that it won"t do the work you ask of it, its just the fact that if you run the tractors hyd pump 100 hrs a year powering the planter fan, that is 100 hrs of pump life you have spent. If you price a new pump for the tractor (if it is even available) I"ll bet a new PTO pump is cheaper and I know it is available. It"s up to you. Pick your poison.
