As shown in fig. 1, 3 and 4, the power tongs for the sucker rod comprise a mounting plate 1, wherein a main tong 2, a clamping assembly and an auxiliary tong 4 are sequentially arranged at the front end of the mounting plate 1 from top to bottom.

The main clamp 2 is positioned above the mounting plate 1 and is fixedly connected with the mounting plate 1. When the clamping oil cylinder 32 is in an extending state, the inner side surface of the clamping block 31 is positioned in the avoiding notch, so that a coupling positioned in the avoiding notch is clamped.
As a specific implementation manner, as shown in fig. 6 and 8, in this embodiment, vertical plates 53 extending downward in the vertical direction are respectively disposed on the left and right sides of the avoidance gap on the lower side surface of the guide block 5, and sliding grooves 531 penetrating through the vertical plates 53 in the front-back direction and matching with the auxiliary tongs 4 are respectively disposed on the inner side surfaces of the vertical plates 53. The left and right ends of the auxiliary jaw 4 are inserted into the sliding grooves 531, respectively. A web 61 extending along the transverse direction is arranged between the two vertical plates 53, two guide rods 41 extending backwards are arranged on the rear end surface of the auxiliary clamp 4, the rear ends of the guide rods 41 pass through the web 61 and extend to the outer side of the web 61, a spring 411 is sleeved on the guide rods 41 between the auxiliary clamp 4 and the web 61, and a stopper (not shown in the figure) for preventing the guide rods from slipping off the web 61 is fixedly arranged on the guide rods 41 at the rear side of the web 61. Preferably, the stopper is a stopper nut, and the guide rod 41 is provided with an external thread matched with the stopper nut.
