Three-jaw ring chucks are mainly used for clamping cylindrical or ring parts at low clamping forces. In contrast to chucks for machining workpieces, the clamping force must be significantly lower in measuring technology, otherwise there is a risk of deformation of the components. By clamping by hand with the clamping ring, the components can be clamped exactly with the clamping force required in each case.

With interchangeable jaws, you can conveniently adapt the ring chuck to your requirements. Special jaws manufactured in-house can also be adapted. The kit version for the DuraMax rotary table is equipped with a mounted adaptation to the rotary table and also includes a reference sphere to qualifiy the rotary table.

The standard 3-jaw chuck is designed to hold a part and is opened and closed via a removable handle that drive a scroll to evenly open and close the chuck jaws. The chuck has master jaws that allow for hard and soft jaws to be installed. The standard chuck package includes an adapter plate to allow it to be mounted to the rotary table spindle or faceplate. Most 3-jaw chucks are adjustable to allow you to align the rotation of the chuck to run true with the rotation of the rotary table.

For medium to large parts, the VH-11 rotary table has an 11" (280mm) diameter platter with a 6.75" center height. A 10" or 12" chuck or fixture can easily be bolted to the table using the six precision T-slots. Its large 4" through-hole can be used for bar feeding and special fixture-locating requirements. The spindle and worm have two bearings for front and back support. As always, the worm wheel is helically cut and throated for greater surface contact between the wheel and worm. There is an optional 10" or 12" manual 3-Jaw chuck and adapter plate available as well as a manual or pneumatic tailstock with matching center height.
