enco rotary table pricelist

I ordered a rotary table from Enco. MSC had the same table, but at a much higher price. Enco was about $220 and MSC was about $450 for exactly the same product. When it arrived, I noticed that the shipper"s return address on the crate was from MSC, but all the paperwork and billing is from Enco. Do they both use the same warehouse or are they under the same ownership? If so, how can Enco sell exactly the same thing for so much less than MSC? The price difference is so huge it makes me suspicious.

I have ordered lots of stuff from Enco, never had any problems and returns have always been hassle-free and promptly processed. I"m just wondering what the relationship is between Enco and MSC.

Enco is part of MSC and is the discount operation as of a few years ago. MSC is aimed at industry with big bux. They have to charge more just to pay for that humongous "big book" catalog they give out. In many cases what you get from Enco is the same thing. (but not always)

3) MSC prices are higher than Enco. Be careful because sometimes MSC is actually a few $ cheaper than Enco when the same item is listed in a sales flyer (although rare).

My bottom line... since I am a hobby guy, I always order from Enco. With that said, I often order from MSC because thay have (it) and Enco does not. Many of my firiends order from McMaster Carr.

Has the customer service and quality of the Enco stuff improved since they were independent of MSC? I haven"t ordered from them in some 15 years due to, among other things, poor quality and horrid service. I might try again if the quality and customer service have improved since then.[/i]

For what is worth, Sunday I made a small online order to Enco and could not find a place to enter the free shipping code, assuming it was to be entered as part of the ceck out process.

Disappointed I could not use the code I sent an e-mail to Enco CS asking to describe how does the free code work. Did not ask for a refund or retroactive, I did not even specify my address.

I orderd a product from Enco and the container came damaged enough that I needed to use my own container. They refunded the purchase price for the item. Another product I ordered turned out to be awful (drill gauge - holes were not precise enough to determine drill size). They refunded my money and did not require me to ship it back (it hardly cost anything, but they were very good about it).

I agree with other posters comments. One not mentioned is that MSC never lets you know what the shipping charge will be when you order, while you can usually get free shipping from Enco.

Odd thing about the Enco/MSC operation in Atlanta. If you order from MSC you can pick up the order from the "will call" desk at the warehouse. Order the samr item(or any other item, for that matter) from Enco, it comes from the same warehouse, no pickup must be shipped!

I recently bought a 8" H/V Phase II RT from MSC. So far I have been quite happy with it, as I needed it for a current project. I can lift it, but genrally prefer to slide it on and off a rolling cart from my milling table. The 10" would have been too heavy to lift. The T-slots are smaller than the mills, so my first job was to make a set for use with the RT. Clamps for milling can also be too large for clamping small pieces to the table, so some fabrication might be in order as well.
