2 axis rotary table free sample
Sherline’s CNC driver box comes equipped with an A-axis output cable ready to drive a 4th rotary axis. This rotary table is all you need to turn your Sherline CNC mill into a 4-axis machine. Just plug the A-axis cable from the external driver box or the built-in driver box in your Sherline computer into the matching plug on the stepper motor. The EMC2 software is already set up to handle G-code for the A-axis, and numbers entered after the letter “A” in your code are interpreted in degrees.
The same end result can be obtained by ordering a CNC ready rotary table and a stepper motor and attaching the motor, but this single part number does the same thing, making it easier to order and saving you the trouble of installing the motor on the rotary table.
Direct drives allow highly dynamic and continuous movement and with this, a constant flow of new machining concepts. Peiseler took the lead in this technology as early as 1997 with the development of the world"s first subdevice with a direct drive, just as it did with the first two-axis rotary tilt table with a direct drive in 2001. Today, we are in the technologically leading position to offer you direct drives for turning operations in S1 continuous milling. Increasing machine speed while maintaining bearing rigidity at a level that is also suitable for milling enables us to combine turning and milling applications. This allows Peiseler"s development engineers to use machining centres more flexibly. Direct drives use very sensitive control technology and place high demands on energy supply.
M-035 series high precision rotary tables rotation stages feature high resolution, excellent repeatability and minimum wobble. These high performance rotational positioning stages are equipped with double ball bearings for minimum backlash and high load capacity. Both the rotation stage platform and the scale ring (graduated in 2-degree increments) can be independently coarse positioned over 360 degrees and then be locked by screws.
The basic rotary table version, M-035.D0, is equipped with a DC servo motor drive providing a positioning range of ± 6.3 degrees. A set of limit switches eliminates the possibility of overtravel. For the highest precision and highest performance, high speed air bearing rotary tables are recommended.
The versions M-035.DS and M-035.DP provide additional piezoelectric fine adjustment over a range of ±520 µrad. The piezoelectric fine adjustment also allows dynamic operation such as scanning or tracking. The .DS version is equipped with a closed loop PZT drive (model P-841.30), while the .DP version comes with an open loop PZT drive (model P-840.30). Both drives provide a linear range of 45 microns and sub-nanometer linear resolution (see "PZT Actuators" section for further details and recommended drivers).
Rotation tables with air bearings are used when rotary motion with the highest accuracy, smoothness, and geometric performance is required. Due to the lack of friction, these high precision rotation bearings and direct-drive motorized rotary tables can achieve angular resolution in the sub-microradian range. PI’s air bearing design and manufacturing group provides hundreds of man years of design experience along with the manufacturing and test equipment to produce high quality rotary tables with the tightest tolerances.
Rotary air bearings (air bearing spindles) are friction free, and all of PI’s motorized air bearing rotation stages employ closed-loop, non-contact 3-phase direct-drive torque motors, and optical high-resolution rotary encoders for ultra-reliable maintenance-free operation with basically unlimited service life.
Absolute angle-measuring feedback sensors are available to provide closed-loop control with single digit microradian bi-directional repeatability. Direct-drive rotary air bearing tables also provide better eccentricity, flatness, and minimized wobble compared to rotary stages based on mechanical bearings. The friction-free design allows for high angular velocity without vibrations and noise.
Applications of rotary air bearing spindles / motorized direct-drive rotary tables include indexing, metrology, optical lens testing, bio-medical engineering, runout measurements of machined parts, and fiber optics.
PI’s high-performance closed loop servo motor controllers are available to precisely control position, acceleration and velocity, with advanced algorithms. Fully integrated multi-axis motion systems with linear air bearing stages and combinations with gantry systems are also available from PI’s air bearing division.
The robust geared rotary tables of the 500 series are extremely flexible to use and, thanks to the combiFLEX® modular system, can be converted or extended at any time to meet new machining tasks. The rotary tables are not only suitable for positioning operation, but can also be used for short simultaneous machining operations. The preloaded gear and the powerful bearings allow high long-term accuracies as well as large spindle loads. The maximum clamping force of up to 7,000 Nm leaves hardly anything to be desired.
Our direct drive rotary tables provide high torque and are easy to integrate. They contain high-energy magnets in a simplified mechanical design and drive loads directly without the need for a transmission mechanism or gearbox. It allows customers to build them right into a drive system for flexible placement and integration with cooling pipes and cables, for example.
We supply a wide range of frameless motors, and our adjustable motors include an optical encoder, scale, bearing and housing. Given our selection, it can be challenging to choose the best direct drive motor for your project. Our engineers prefer to help you find the right rotary table for your requirements.
Our most popular rotary motor, the AXD series is characterized by a slim, compact "pancake" design with high peak and continuous torque despite the motor"s quite small form factor.Direct drive and brushless motor
The ACD series is a set of ironless rotary tables. This motor is cogging-free and features high-resolution optical encoder feedback and low speed variability. This permanent magnet motor is equally suited for either low or high speed applications.Zero cogging coreless motor
