Digital Rotary Table can be mounted horizontally or vertically to the milling table for machining a wide variety of precision parts. One revolution of the handwheel rotates the 4" diameter table 5 degrees. Table has rotational accuracy of 10 seconds (0.0027 degrees). Digital readout unit can be set to display in degrees and minutes or in decimal degrees. Readout resolution: 1 minute (0.0166 degrees). Table has a MT2 hole and includes an adapter plate for mounting our #82512 3-jaw lathe chuck and #82505 4-jaw lathe chuck (available separately). For use with MicroLux® R8 Milling Machine.

The digital rotary tables are in one of the most significant categories regarding the automatic processing in the machine tool industry, since the capabilities they have bring a higher level of the operations. For instance, the tilting capability they offer makes more machining processes available as more machining angles can be achieved.

The rotary table is a necessary component in the automatic operation as well. It can be in conjunction with the spindles, saddles, motors, hydraulic cylinders, chucks, screws, etc., which are the parts that can be often seen on a machining center, for example. Combined with these components, the invention of the rotary tables brings more profits to the machine tool industry in Taiwan.

Digital rotary tables are also applied to grinding processing as well. It offers strength for supporting the workpieces and convenience for the abrasive wheels to grind on the workpieces during the grinding process. When it comes to surface grinding, which is the process before an end product is made, the surfaces of the products that come in flat or other specific shapes are ground without the remaining chops or burrs.

As the need of grinding different surfaces on a product increases, the application of a digital rotary table can help a lot in reaching this achievement. That is, when conducting the grinding process with a digital rotary table, it refines what the milling processes can bring to the products being made.

For digital rotary tables to be used in the machine tool sector, especially in the advanced applications, 5 axis bridge type machining center is a highly developed machine tool that is able to handle various tasks in one operation, which eliminates the need of transferring one workpiece to several working sites.

The development of digital rotary tables can be derived from the mid-20th century, which began from the conventional milling machines and transformed into the machining center that is in charge of automatic operation nowadays. This makes the adoption of machining centers covers a wide range of industries, contributing a wide range of industrial demands.

Furthermore, as one of the classic but always useful types in the machining center family, bridge type machining center is a highly developed machine tool that can especially deal with heavy-duty operations. With a bridge-like frame that contains automatic tool change and transfer functions, the workpieces can be secured in the center worktable under the bridge, and receive the various machining processes without the limitation of space and product intricacy as in the conventional form of milling machines. From the mid ages of the last century until now, the development of this type of machine tools has made a difference and opened a new chapter in the prosperous future of the machine tool industry.

By adopting the digital rotary table, the available machining orientations can be achieved with at least three axes as in the general construction of machining centers.

Sherline offers one of the finest small rotary tables on the market. It is available in manual or stepper motor drive modes. It can even be purchased with its one controller to be used as a programmable indexer. Below are links to the pages on the various versions of the Sherline 4″ rotary table. The table is driven by a worm gear with a 72:1 ratio making each turn of the handwheel equal to 5°. Fifty laser engraved handwheel marks indicate positions 1/10 of a degree apart. A 90° fixture is available to position the table in a vertical position. Our P/N 3750 Tilting Angle Table is also available for positioning at any angle from 0° to 90°.

Sherline’s rotary table is one of the most popular accessories in the tool line. Its popularity extends from the home shop to the professional machine shop due to its compact size, solid construction, and long-lasting accuracy. The handwheel is calibrated in 1/10° increments with marks every 5° around the table’s periphery. Included is a set of hold-down clamps, T-nuts, and a threaded center fixture for attaching Sherline chucks with a 3/4-16 center thread. Read more about the Sherline manual rotary table.

P/N 3700-CNC 4″ CNC-Ready rotary table with stepper motor mount: In place of the manual handwheel, a NEMA 23 stepper motor mount is attached, allowing use of the rotary table as a 4th axis on Sherline CNC mills or for whatever CNC application a customer may have where a small but accurate rotary table is needed. Read more about the Sherline CNC-Ready rotary table.

P/N 8730 4″ CNC rotary table with stepper motor mount and NEMA 23 stepper motor: This takes the above rotary table one step further with the inclusion of Sherline’s own NEMA 23 stepper motor already attached to the rotary table and including a 5-pin plug that connects directly to the Sherline 8760 4-axis driver box. Read more about the Sherline CNC rotary table with stepper motor.

Sherline offers the answer to your small rotary indexer needs by providing a programmable control box with its own power supply and driver for running the rotary table. Inputs can be entered by either degrees (to 3 decimal points) or by divisions of a circle (up to 999 divisions). Also programmable are the direction of rotation, the speed of rotation and backlash compensation. In the PROGRAM mode, two different programs of up to 40 blocks each can be entered that control rotation speed, direction and degrees or divisions plus the option to continue or pause at the end of each block. Read more about the Sherline programmable rotary indexer.

SAN JOSE, CA, Jan. 25, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- With the expansion of its line of RTMB high precision indexing tables, ETEL now offers the new RTMB+, enabling large-diameter manufacturing applications that require higher torque than previously provided.  This is achieved through an expansion to four new table size options, and two new diameters with two heights per.  Also, with the key integration of a new water-cooling feature, users can expect an up to 30% indexing gain compared to its equivalent air-cooled version.

All of this makes the RTMB+ rotary axes the ideal solution for all rotary machining applications where high repeatability and short indexing times are required, such as in back-end semiconductor, electronics, automation, or printing industries.

Alone or coupled with ETEL’s force-controlled short stroke actuators and AccurET controllers, the RTMB+ is an especially notable solution for applications in back-end semiconductor manufacturing, such as in MEMS testers, die bonders, pick-and-place testers, turret testing handlers, and more!
