I have one of the 10 inch Moore tables, i actually think its 10-1/4 diameter or something like that. Bought it at a shop that was going out of business and was selling off their eqpt rather than auctioning it.

He had that same Moore table, and one of the newer (probably 1960"s or 70"s) Troyke 9 inch. Was able to negotiate for both tables for about $150. One of my best bargains ever. Both tables looked ugly, but were covered in some oil based congealed slime that acted as a preservative. Who knows, maybe it was still the original cosmoline.

The Troyke cleaned up to almost pristine. The Moore, I have yet to clean up, bit it will come out very nice when I do. I even have the right angle Moore accesory plate to go with it. If I think about it, I"ll post a picture of the right angle plate tonight.

My guess is that the Moore is probably overkill for us homeshoppers. Even if it wasn"t designed for milling. Its probably best suited for use as a hole positioner or other operations where the rotating table is locked down and you"re not turning the crank while you"re milling. Look at the small crank handle of the 10" Moore. It"s probably 1/3 of the size of the handle on my 9" Troyke. Not really meant for cranking against the forces of a cutting endmill.

Moore Tool manufactures a complete line of high precision, CNC positioning and contouring rotary tables from 12 inches (305 mm) to 96 inches (2.4 m) in diameter. We also offer service and remanufacturing services on tables that we have built.

The Moore 1440 Precision Index is a serrated-tooth circle divider of highest accuracy using two face gears of identical shape and pitch. During operation, the table is displaced axially to disengage the teeth and radially to the desired angle. The instrument is guaranteed to be accurate to within ±0.1 second of arc at any of the 1440 indexed positions

The Rotary Dining Table has a commanding presence that is reminiscent of Henry Moore and Noguchi. The Brutalist texture is finished in our innovative Dante Brass or Dark Bronze....

1. In the horizontal position, the left (top in the vertical position) hold-down notch has a rounded and painted surface on the top. This means the clamp bolt"s washer doesn"t sit parallel to the table. This means it has a tendency to slide around as it is tightened. I will probably mill it flat, shortly.

3. There is a fair amount of backlash in the worm gear, but I haven"t even looked for an adjustment yet. There are 2 clamps on the side of the table and these can be locked in place to deal with the backlash.

6. There are 2 clamps, 4 bolts, and 4 t-slot nuts supplied. On a 6" table, it doesn"t take a big part to run out of clamping room. I have already made a simple ring to bolt down a part that I was making.

7. In the vertical position, the base is too wide to allow both slots to be used to clamp it down to the table. This is a concern for me. I found this out today and used a couple of 123 blocks to wedge it in position. There isn"t much room to use a clamp block as the clamps that are on the rotary table swing down very close to the mill"s table as it is rotated.

9. Remember to lock the mill"s table in place or you can get some very puzzling movement due to backlash in the mill"s table. It isn"t much but it can be a headscratcher!

Well, I visited an old machine shop where the owners are fine honest folks but known to destroy perfectly good machinery. I"ve done business with them in the past and used their shop on rare occasions. I asked about rotary tables and they had three on hand. Two were in use but the third, an old 10" Bridgeport horizontal, was shelved. We discussed price and they told me to just take it. I was thrilled until I disassembled it for cleaning and noted the ring gear was completely destroyed on opposing sides. I guess someone was using it on a mill but not locking down the table. The loads were placed on the ring gear which finally self destructed. Dang...

On Monday, I drove to Chantilly Virginia to look at a shop closing after 32 years. They primarily produced small electronic enclosures so the equipment didn"t appear to have been abused. I was only interested in a rotary table. There was some decent machinery there such as a milling machine (can"t recall the name), Nardini 12x30 lathe, cnc press, cnc punch, Do-All band saw with blade welder, rollers, shears, Miller Syncrowave 350XL, Miller 12" throat spot welder with radiator, etc. I ended up buying a like new Gem Power right angle head with support arbor, R8 cutter holder and 1" arbor ($300), Bridgeport 12" horizontal rotary table in exceptional condition ($300) and an older Millermatic 250 with the built controller and Spoolmatic 30A gun ($1000). I looked at mill ends, spot facers and such. He was asking fair prices. I held out but did grab a Trademark MT3 live center for another $20. I already have a 220v Miller Challenger with a spool gun/controller but what the heck. The 350XL was $3500 which could have been talked down but I own a nice and rugged Syncrowave 250 with cooler. Since I also own a nice Bridgeport 9x48 mill and a good Grizzly 13x40 lathe, 15" Rockwell band saw, 25 ton press, Miller plasma torch and a good Powermatic 15" vari-speed drill press I didn"t put too much time into his equipment. All in all, I think I got a good deal. Now it"s time to get to work.

The Los Angeles Chargers didn"t waste any time in reaching an agreement with Moore to be their next offensive coordinator. Monday"s announcement came less than 24 hours after the Dallas Cowboys said Moore would not return.

Moore had spent the past eight seasons with the Cowboys, including the past four as offensive coordinator. He signed with Dallas in 2015 as a player and then joined the coaching staff in 2018, going from Prescott’s backup to his position coach.

Moore will be the third offensive coordinator since Justin Herbert was the sixth overall pick by the Chargers in 2020. Shane Steichen directed the Bolts offense as well as being QBs coach under Anthony Lynn in 2020 before Lynn was fired at the end of the season.

That is not expected to be the case under Moore. Dallas was 53% pass to 47% run last season, which was tied for the ninth-highest percentage of run plays.

In Moore"s four seasons as offensive coordinator, the Cowboys were second in the league in total offense (391.0 yards per game) and scoring (27.7 points per game).
