With our FieldLab PSV/PRV Testing software and hardware, it is possible to conduct the test and record most of the information on testing a Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) or Proportional Relief Valve (PRV) directly on the calibrator. After the test is completed the data is then transferred electronically to a PC where a test report with graphs, customer data, tag data and other required information can be output and shared.

The unique PSV/PRV test mode captures the PSV crack and reseats pressure by logging pressure at 200 times per second. Most competitors" devices do not reliably capture the crack and reseat because the logging rate is too slow. The PSV/PRV mode also allows the user to select from standards such as ASME Boiler Code Section 8, simple crack tests or conditional crack tests where the allowable error may depend on the pressure of the PSV. The user can enter the pressure of the valve at the time of test and type in any other important information right on the FieldLab. Thus when the user returns to the office they can download all important information and create the certificates without a lot of extra effort.

The removal of a boiler relief valve for testing can be a time consuming job. The task involves removing the valve, lock out/tag out procedure and transporting it to the shop.Today’s technology allows for a simpler solution.

Electronic valve testing equipment enables The Valve Shop’s Boiler Valve technicians to verify the set pressure of safety and safety relief valves in-line without having to shut down a system or a unit. Only those valves that test unsuccessful are tagged for repair during a scheduled maintenance outage. This method of testing can significantly reduce downtime and costly maintenance.

The completely portable unit consists of a laptop computer equipped with a database of valve seat effective areas and lift assist device. A combination of system pressure and controlled external force is applied to the valve"s spindle to lift the valve. All data is recorded real time. Test results are available by digital and analog mediums.

The Field Service Unit also includes a state of-the-art computerized lift-assist testing unit that allows for testing set pressures and resetting high-pressure safety valves in the field. The testing unit makes testing valves that are welded in-line or stationary possible without removing the valves. Your customers won’t be required to pressure down or increase pressure to test for set pressure. The lift assist testing unit also allows for resetting valves after repairs have been made while the valves are on-line.
