Lawrence retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation in the Wire Rope department in 1981. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He was very proud of his hole-in-one on number 7 at White Deer in 1980.

He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jon Huff (Teresa), Wilmington, DE; Kimberly Hufnagel (John), Corning, NY; Dr. Matthew Wolfe, Rochester, NY; Daniel Wolfe, Williamstown, MA; Kelly Allamaras (Damon), Williamsport; and Dr. Michael Bair, (fiancée Jackie) Lexington, KY. and his great grandchildren: Emily, Andrew and Colin Huff, Jacob and Benjamin Hufnagel, Landon and Cooper Allamaras, and Neil and Simon Wolfe. They all knew him as “Umpy” and loved him very much.
