Chant Wire Rope Grips work on the wedge principle. As the rope is pulled, each half of the wedge set squeezes on the rope. The wedge set is geared together to work in unison. The wedge set rides on precision roller bearings held between hardened raceways. The harder the pull, the more the wedges grip, all without damaging the rope.

Chant makes two types of Wire Rope Grips, small ones with a lid and large ones without a lid. The small lids are hinged to the grip body and can easily be opened by hand. The large grips do not have a lid and are designed to take the full load without one.

Chant makes various mounting styles for our grips. The most common is the four bolt front mount, for bolting to the end of a testing machine. We also manufacture Wire Rope Grips that pin inside the machine as well as bridle ear and butt mounting styles.

Depress the plunger and the Verlock glides smoothly up and down the cable to where you need it. Release the plunger and the steel-sprung three-ball mechanism grips even wet and oily cable. The greater the pull, the stronger the grip. The Verlock is designed for use in conjunction with snaps, carabiners or the fastener of your choice.

These wire rope lanyard assemblies are used to attach quick release pins to a fixture or frame, to prevent the pins from being misplaced while they are not in use. The wire rope lanyard assemblies made from 7 x 7 stainless steel wire and are available either uncovered (bare cable) or covered. The vinyl covered assemblies are available in either clear, black or green. The 3/64" wire is covered to 1/16" diameter. The rated break strength of the 3/64" wire with the eyelet is 30 lbs. The cable sleeves are manufactured from zinc plated copper with stainless steel sleeves available on request. The eyelet is made from 300 series stainless steel. In addition to the standard parts listed, we can provide custom lanyards based on your exact requirements.
