Many years ago now, CARL STAHL ARCHITECTURE came up with an innovative construction element that combines protection with aesthetic design: X-TEND. The potential applications for stainless steel mesh are exceptionally varied both indoors and outdoors. Amongst other things, it is used as balustrade in-fill, horizontal or vertical fall protection, dividers, façade cladding, green wall systems or simply very flexible design elements. Architecturally ambitious zoolutions such as lightweight, free-flight aviaries or big-cat enclosures with three-dimensional, curvilinear geometries are also built using X-TEND stainless steel netting. They are just one of the many specialities of CARL STAHL ARCHITECTURE’s experienced planners and wire rope specialists.

X-TEND undergoes regular internal and external testing. Continuous factory production controls in accordance with a prescribed test plan are backed up by regular inspections by independent testing institutes to determine compliance with the European Technical Approval.

Stainless steel welded wire mesh is strong and long lasting. By it"s very nature stainless steel wire needs no additional finish, such as galvanizing or PVC, to protect it. The wire itself is extremely resistant to rust, corrosion and harsh chemicals. If you need a welded mesh or fence in an area with prolonged exposure to corrosives, stainless steel products will meet the demands.

The following specifications are most commonly available. Heavier gauges and other mesh sizes can be made to order. There may be minimum quantity or set-up charges required.

An innovative, highly durable product with exceptional tensile strength, Webnet is weather-resistant and requires minimal maintenance. In combination with our architectural rope systems, Webnet may be used in many different applications, both indoors and outdoors, including balustrade infill, animal enclosures, safety nets and green wall systems.

Webnet is a construction of corrosion-resistant steel ropes placed parallel to one another in pairs connected by alternating sleeves to produce a symmetrical bent pattern. The nets are fabricated to-order for each project, according to its specific requirements. This means there are virtually no limits to the shape, size or mesh orientation of Webnet – all of which may be selected individually.

The standard Webnet specification features alternating sleeves within the web structure, making it versatile, flexible and economical – especially with small rope diameters.

Webnet is designed and fabricated in Jakob’s own manufacturing plant – to the exact dimensions specified. This makes installation fast and straightforward, with no cutting to size required on site and providing consistent mesh size and tensioning as well as perfect edge connections.

Webnet installation requires only a minimum number of tools. A rope is threaded through the outermost row of mesh and then wound about a structure, thereby tensioning the net.
