A wire rope clamp is used to fix the loose end of the loop back to the wire rope. ...It usually consists of a U-shaped bolt, a forged saddle and two nuts.
Wire ropes are used dynamically for lifting and hoisting in cranes and elevators, and for transmission of mechanical power. ...Wire rope is also used to transmit force in mechanisms. ...The rope is designed in Solidworks 2020
Two sizes for wire rope. One is 1/8in and the other is 1/4in. The three holes in the middle are for attaching it to a drive rod from a servo motor to lift things up. ...I used 3mm metal rods to attach it to the drive rod.
This is a rope clamp i saw on a Kayak spary skirt, which is nicer than those with a button/spring combination. I have uploaded every Solidworks part, and an assembly. I think it could be printed assembled, but i have not done any test print.
Note: The wire rope grip can be used with 6 or 8-strand steel wire ropes with steel or fiber core, in a wire rope quality of up to 1960 N/mm2. When properly assembled, the assembly can handle up to 90% of the minimum breaking load of the steel wire rope (MBL).
The Green Pin® Wire Rope Clip is a wire rope clip, generally to EN 13411-5 Type B. This wire rope clip is safer to work with as the ribs on the bearing surface of the clip prevent sliding of the wire rope. Furthermore, the wire rope clip is made from high tensile steel, while galvanization ensures its long-term durability. The Green Pin® Wire Rope Clip is available in a range for wire rope diameters of 3 up to 78 mm.
We design, manufacture and stock a wide range of workholding and positioning components, as well as rollers and bumpers for materials handling, assembly and manufacturing. The workholding and positioning components provide for faster speeds and feeds, and their modular and economical replaceable wear surfaces extend the life of expensive jigs, fixtures, jaws and clamping mechanisms. Our line includes serrated grippers, low-profile edge grippers, single point and straight serration grippers, as well as Swivots® -swivel-action modular component workholding system incorporating a serrated or smooth contact area that rotates and pivots for holding and positioning of irregular contour surfaces.
