It"ll maintain the pressure until you move the pedal to the release position. The only thing the air actually does is operate the oil pump. Once the hydraulic pressure is up to where you want it, the air pressure can be zero and it won"t affect the hydraulic side"s ability to maintain the pressure.

I would use a dedicated pressure regulator to supply air to the intensifier. The clamps you show are good for 5000psi while the intensifier will produce 10,000 psi oil @ 100psi air pressure. In a system like this, with a small overall volume, the intensifier can hit that 10,000 psi in the blink of an eye, so you don"t want to leave it to chance that you"ll always remember to set the air regulator to 50 psi or whatever is required to keep your oil pressure within acceptable limits.

From another perspective, it is worth the reduction in cycle time to fool with buying and installing all this stuff as compared to just using 3 screw operated toe clamps? I doubt you"d gain more than 10 seconds on the total cycle via hydraulic clamping as compared to turning the screws in 3 toe clamps a round or two apiece.
