vermeer s650tx hydraulic pump brands
PELLA, Iowa -- Vermeer has announced the newest addition to their family of high-performance, labor-saving mini skid steers — the S650TX — featuring a four pump hydraulic system that delivers hydraulic fluid flow of 13.75 gallons per minute (52 L). The additional capacity of the four pump hydraulic configuration helps enhance attachment performance and increase operational efficiency.
An innovative frame design with idler positioned close to the front attachment plate improves overall lifting capacity and reduces overall machine weight, avoiding the need for additional counterweights at the rear of the machine. With tipping capacity of 1890 pounds (857.3 kg) and rated operating capacity (SAE) of 660 pounds (299.4 kg), users are able to accommodate heavier loads using the S650TX, helping advance productivity.
“Weʼve developed the new S650TX with several features that are designed to enhance overall machine performance,” said Jon Kuyers, utility products segment manager for Vermeer. “The four pump hydraulic system provides greater fluid flow, which contributes to more efficient operation of attachments. The single pilot-operated joystick allows for a smooth range of operation without the user having to balance the engagement of two separate controls.”
The S650TX is equipped with a 24.8 hp (18.5 kW) Kubota D1105-ET03 diesel engine and is available with either a 7- or 9-inch (17.8 or 22.9 cm) rubber tracks. The machine measures 91.5 inches (232.4 cm) in length when outfitted with a standard bucket.
Operators will appreciate the spring-cushioned platform that keeps them out of mud and debris. As with all Vermeer mini skid steers, the S650TX is equipped with an operator presence system that suspends ground drive and attachment motion if the operator steps off the machine.
A universal mounting plate helps extend the functionality of the S650TX, making it compatible with several labor-saving attachments, all suitable for performing a wide range of tasks.

The Ditch Witch SK650 is equipped with a 31-hp Kubota turbo diesel engine and is designed to direct 20 net hp to the attachment, enabling this small-platform unit to outperform other machines of comparable size, the maker says. The SK650 also features an 8-gallon exterior-mounted fuel tank and an exterior-mounted hydraulic tank for improved capacity and efficiency. Quick-disconnect attachment fittings enable attachments to be changed with the hydraulic system under pressure, which speeds productivity. 800.654.6481, ditchwitch.com
Tension isn’t always something you want to deal with on a day-to-day basis, but when it comes to mini skid steers, it’s important to maintain. Operators have found that track tension is a top priority to help sustain mini skid steer performance and longevity on most jobsites. But in order to make sure that track tension is adequately maintained, regular inspections are needed. Here’s how and why you should check the track tension on a Vermeer mini skid steer.
“If your tracks are too tight or loose, it can allow tracks to come off the frame, rollers or idlers,” said Cole Chesnut, Vermeer applications specialist. “It’s efficient to get them back on if you have the right tools in the field, but rollers, idlers and sprockets on the ground drive will see a shorter life if they’re not operated at the right tension.”
“Our tracks have steel cords and bars running through them inside a rubber outer layer. Our goal is that our system is efficient for operators to adjust and maintain,” said Chesnut. “Rollers and idlers will see shorter life if they’re too loose or tight. If you’re overtightening them, you’re putting excessive pressure on the shaft of the ground drive motor and that can lead to a hydraulic issue.”
