wd45 hydraulic pump factory

Does any body have any ideas on what would cause the pump to be stuck in a constant lift. When I bought the tractor it had a two spool hydrauic valve with one valve running the lift arms and one for remotes. I want to undo this and hook the lift arms up to the pump the factory way and install a high volume belt drive pump that will utilize the spool valves for remotes. The problem is that the factory pump causes the lift arms to rise no matter what position the controls are in and will not let them back down.

Either the traction booster linkage is waayy out of adjustment, or most likley the unloadeing valve is stuck in the pumping positon. There is thumbscrew on the front of the hyd pump behind the frame rail, screw that screw all the way into the pump, that will force the unloading valve to the unloaded postion. Do that a few times then unscrew it until the head of the thumbscrew is against the torque tube casting. Most times this works, if it happens again real soon, or still keep pumping, then the pump will have to come off and cleaned up. Sometimes the check ball springs break up, migrate to the unloading valve and cause it to stick. Good luck

I would check the linkages, Sounds like the previous owner rigged it up so it is pumping all the time and then they controlled by the hydraulics with the valves. Now that you removed the valves it is still pumping all the time.
